How to AVERAGE 10.5kts in a condo-maran.... by CHEATING

We sail about 500 miles north from Key Largo to Charleston SC in just over 2.5days by hopping in the gulfstream and riding it due north up to about 80miles offshore. As could be expected, we make excellent time and have a fairly chill ride despite a few storms and increasing winds. This is the first time we've felt confident enough to actually ride the GS the whole way north because it takes you so far offshore. But it was definitely worth it for the speed we got.

We wanted to say a big "thank you" to Kelsey for being such great crew! She's off on her next adventures after this video but fair odds say you'll see her (and her terrible jokes) again!

What a wonderful calm cruise to Charleston !!! And what a gift, getting a free space at the dive shop. Bonus for sure. Lots of smiles form you guys and, of course, Jessica lights up a room (a cabin) most all the time. Thanks guys. Ryan, you did point out two skills I do not have any (at least not much) experience in..........diesel engines and 12-volt electricity. I better get cracking. 👍⚓️

Bon voyage Kelsey, it was great to "meet" you! Best of luck on the work search Ryan, can't be easy with most companies doing remote work right now.

Ryan, i subscribed to your channel for only one reason. although you don't do it as much or as often as you did in your earlier videos; you more than any other sailing channel that i've been able to find, actually offer very useful information for prospective buyers. (talk about a run-on sentence eh.) your video's about why boats are more or less expensive in different parts of the world, was outstanding. and the one about boat loans was also very good. to daggerboard or not to daggerboard , was good too. i guess what i'm suggesting is you focus a little more on the stuff, us prospective buyers, need to know. and not just the obvious stuff everyone else is doing. one that i would really like to see would be an episode on any tax consequences that may benefit, or harm, buyers. there is probably so much stuff, us newbies haven't even thought of. it's stuff that maybe by this time, you kind of take for granted. obviously you can't do what i'm suggesting for every video. but a little bit more often would be a huge help. for instance, i think "sailing uma" has the right mix. everybody likes their sailing videos. we like a lot of things about the two of them, as an enthusiastic young couple. but their bread and butter, video editing aside, and all that other stuff aside; their golden ticket is their boat repair and upgrade videos. lot's of guys talk about fixing this or that. but uma lays out each project, just like a project management team might. for many of us, it's as much about how they do, or approach things, as it is about, what they do. it's what sets them apart. no matter what else is involved, content is king. i sure hope i haven't come across too preachy. i think you guys are great. remember, my suggestion comes from the mind of a person who doesn't have 46.8 thousand subscribers. in fact, i don't even have one. so keep that in mind when evaluating my input. i do not mean to give offense. okay, just wanted to put that bug in your ear. and please, keep up the good work.

Lol, I would give ANYTHING to have some warmer climates 🤪! Our last passage was in the 40s with a North wind. It was chilly! Great speed!

Great episode. Why Charleston for your break? Which Marina or Moring or Anchorage?

Going up the mast is one of the few things about sailboats which really terrifies me. I wonder how much of it could be handled by a drone (for inspections). Or just always having a less-concerned-with-heights crewmember.
