In this video Professor Bruno goes over a few ways to avoid allowing your opponent full control in their guard pull and how to chain this technique into the eventual back take.
At the end of the video, Bruno goes over a method of training he has been using in competition classes that he looks to implement in our advanced and potentially fundamental classes. Essentially after drilling the technique we are focusing on, we then attempt to get the same end result with our training partner apply about 30% resistance. The goal is not to go straight into the primary technique, but to learn how other attacks can be chained together to obtain the same result. By drilling this with a little resistance, Bruno has found it to be much more effective in translating into actual fight situations.
