This video will give you a greater look into bagging the REAR of a truck ( nissan d21 to be exact ) Products seen in this video will be available at www.rohdefab.com for custom parts email me at blazingcustomz@hotmail.com
Hey, I hope you never blow an air line goin down the road. Looks awesome and thanks for sharing. I gotta air bag a trailer of mine as I haul peaches down the road to the market.
Sick truck bro been keeping up with the updates coming out sick. Jus bagged my Mazda b2300 looking for some parts for it hard to find aha like tailgate trim. Any suggestions on a faster valves I have the slam specialties would want a faster valve
I’m going to attempt to bag an 85’ 1ton Chevy van.. and turn it into a van/pickup/rat rod type thing.. I don’t have much experience with cutting frames!
FYI DOM tube starts as ordinary welded seam tube it is then drawn over a mandrel and pulled through a die This does several things that make it stronger than welded seam tube The more uniform in OD ID and wall thickness make it more structurally sound but pulling it over the mandrel and through the die work hardens the metal changing the grain structure makes it stronger
Great work as always bro love it I would definitely like to talk with you about building me a kit for my truck I’d rather give you the money then this big name company’s who forgot where they come from 🤘🏽
Kool vid bro helped me understand a little better how the setup works I was wondering on the storage tanks, can u have more than 1? Or is it kool to just have 1? Also do u require to have a gauge to monitor the pressure on the tank? Thanks
Thanks, i would recommend at least a 5 gallon air tank. But ya you can run multiple tanks or one large but the more air you can hold the more compressors you'll need. I would recommend an air gauge, or if you do a setup like mine with no gauges i run a pressure blow off valve so if the pressure switch doesn't tell the compressor to turn off the valve will release so the tank and or compressor doesn't blow up.
Dude u do wonderful work... I need you to get in touch with me. I have a 97 ford f150 . Needs the baggs on back redone. Doesn't lay down like I want. But I have faith in you to help me put with that.........keep up the amazing work bro
Awesome video man.. thank you! Would be nice to see what all components you need to bag a truck. Bags, compressors, tank, air lines, valves, what else?
Just the rear 2k-3k. The whole truck 4k-8k. Honestly depends on the shop and the details. Some shops charge $70+ an hour just for fabrication... but imo you get what you pay for. If you go to a shop and they say they can bag your whole truck for 2k let me tell you it will be a very unsafe and improper job.
we actually have found that its better to set the axle at half ride height not where your drive height is, then no matter where you ride the axle is as close as possible to centered. The way shown in the video has been done for years and it works. Just throwing out some more ways of doing it.
3 years in the rain with no major issues. Had a ground strap get a little funky after a year so re ground the frame and added some goop on top and have been smooth sailing.
It's actually opposite when at full lift there super stiff, and aired down there squishy. Although if you have shocks it counter acts the squishyness at low heights
This setup has been handling great, it's more setup to keep the truck flat around the corners but if you wanted side to side articulation you could simply add heim joints.
Is it a problem when the bag is at full squish and the convolutions rolls over and touches the bag mounts? I'm running dominator 2500 and my mounts are typical bag on axle brackets. The dominator rubber rolls over quite a bit fully compressed and touches the brackets
That's pretty common, ideally you don't want the bag to touch metal. But fully compressed is common in alot of cases. You'll want to check for sharp edges on the brackets them selfs, round over any 90 degree edges or harsh areas with a flap disc and then sand paper to give the most life to the airbag. If its touching smooth metal the bag should last a long time to the point where the bag itself shows wear, like drying out.
Yeah stupid comment lol This was the first of your videos I had watched. Little bit addicted to your channel now. Really fascinated and amazed at the level of work you are producing. Can't get enough of it good work!!
The ruber bushings allow a bit of side to side movement for average driving. If you wish to go side to side and lean the truck over alot I would recommend heim joints
+Vladimir Rosales it the old version of ride pro valve block. Had an issue when I bought it used valve was leaking, but took it apart and put a new o ring and it works great. Really simple and easy to take a part and use. Time will tell how I like it in the long run
I drive this truck pretty easy, haven't noticed any major roll issues in the last 4 years. If you we're building somthing that was going to go fast and corner harder I would keep the roll center as centered as possible.
@@scrapingpavement Thanks for the reply. I have also seen some older OEM vehicles with an offset upper link, I was considering doing something similar on my truck.
I have a 95 hardbody with 5 spoke Titan 18s on it the wheels stick out a little bit. I put 4x4 fenders on the front for clearance what is your suggestion for clearance on the rear?
4 things you can do. 1- if you have an h190 axle you can put a datsun 720 axle in which is 1.5" narrower on each side or 620 axle which is 3" narrower on each side and swap third members. 2- pull the shit out of the bed fender ( ugly ) 3- graft 87-89 rear pathfinder quarters to the bed they have a big buldge like front fenders, or some will even graft 4wd front fenders to the bed ( pathfinder quarters look better imo ) 4- lastly you can sell the wheels and get ones that tuck.
@@scrapingpavementThank you always look forward to watching your videos and seeing what's next. The last way is probably the way I will go because I'm not sure if I really like the 4x4 fenders on it
IM BAGGING MY 1950's TRUCK MY MECHANIC TELLS ME I SHOULD DO A C4 CORVETTE IRS AND BAG IT & OTHER PPL TELL ME TO DO A FULL 4-LINK SUSPENSION AND BAG IT.... WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS ITS GOING TO HAVE 15"×14" REAR WHEELS ON REAR AND A BIG BLOCK....! THANK YOU
Truck is still going strong as a daily driver. The roll center being offset leans a little more turning one way than the other ( not noticeable unless paying attention to it ) if you were to locate the single point on the wishbone would solve the slight lean in a corner. Other than that no complaints
