Learn how to bake a really easy vanilla cake, how to release it from the pan, and how to level it!
This is part one of my Cake Decorating 101 series. In this video I’ll show you how to make a really simple uncomplicated cake. This is my beginners series for those who wanted me to share the absolute basics of Cake Decorating.

Recipe:
3/4 cup butter
1 3/4 cup granulated sugar
4 eggs
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/4 cup milk
3 tsp vanilla extract
3 tsp vegetable oil
For two 8 inch pans bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 33 minutes. For 9 inch pans bake 30 minutes.
(tsp is teaspoon not Tablespoon)
Beat butter first. Add granulated sugar and little bit at a time mixing in. Beat in room temperature eggs one at a time.
Whisk all the dry ingredients in a separate bowl (flour, baking powder, salt)
Mix all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl (milk, vanilla, oil)
Alternate beating in the wet and dry mixture into the butter mixture on low speed until all is incorporated.
Pour into prepared pans. Check after 30 minutes with a toothpick to see if it’s done.
Let it rest 10 minutes and then flip.
