Hi Monique, Because I show my dogs we don't trim the leg feathers at all, so there is now specific way to trim them. If you need to thin out your dog's feathers then I would use thinning shears to thin out the hair a bit.

It might be a bit cold. I wash outside with warm water and dry in a shed or garage with a dryer. Can you wash in a garage and pipe out the water?

You definitely have an uphill battle. I would let her have a break for a few months from the bath and then start with reintroducing it with high value treats only for the bathtub. Just walking by, then you touching it all while rewarding her. I would start feeding her next to it. Ultimately, you might need to put her in it and just treat, treat, treat and jump out. Rinse and repeat. It will be a process but with positive reinforcement and time she can get there. When you do try to wash her in the bath, you need two people, one to hold her and treat her and one to wash. When I wash any new dog I always have one hand on the dogs collar and body so I can hold them and know what they are doing and one washing, it takes practice!

I personally only use the dryer after a bath because it will break their hair if it is dirty. I towel dry and then make sure they can dry in full in the house. If they stay wet too long you could have yeast issues.

It depends on if they are allergic to the shampoo, what is your dog allergic to?

Yes, use treats or smear peanut butter on a plate for him to work on while you brush him. An undercoat rake helps get the undercoat out. Make it fun and do it often!

@@SitStaywithStacySlade thank you! i try to do it as often as i can and his coat isnt that thick yet (not much of an undercoat) so im just sticking to a wide soft brish since i dont want to hurt him or irratate his skin

Lol my baby took showers too, until me and him wouldn't fit lol. A small amount of ACV during shampoo and again during rinse has helped mine shed much much less.

We have a yoga mat and a water hose. Yoga mat keeps pads cooler

Yes, both cold and warm work well. It is about getting the appropriate amount of shampoo in their coat down to the skin and rinsing it all out. But I generally only use cold water in the warm months. It is also imperative to get them 100% dry with a dog dryer.

I think anything near freezing would be too cold.

No, human dryers are too hot and not enough power to get down to the skin through the double coat. I order mine online, they are an investment, but well worth it. Mine have lasted 17 years.

I like to use string cheese for training, Mother Hubbards mini treats, Stewarts liver treats, Costco chicken jerky and sometimes hot dogs for training treats.

Chris Mikulski I love my K9II. It’s heavy duty. I will caution to start out with one motor for a puppy, lots of treats and stay away from the head. Even starting with a hair dryer and graduating up is good.

I don't know the brand, I get it at the hardware store it is their general brand.

Because I wash/dry every month I generally don't have mats. So I wash first and dry and brush at the same time since the dryer blows out a lot of the dead coat.

No but Chris Christensen does carry a tearless shampoo. I take care to avoid the eyes.

I'm using organic goats milk shampoo bars made in Mississippi and sold at Hollywood Feed. CHEWY does NOT have them or the selections
