You know the actor who portrayed Jake slowly got fed up with the show, ultimately calling the content disgusting and perverted (paraphrasing), right? I think he probably wrote his character's fate with his own attitude and they slowly phased him out.

@@donsolos Sure. He stood up for his personal values and ethics. I don't think he had a strong case for it (yes, it was racy, but hardly as bad as he made the show's writing out to be), but I respect that he made the choice (although it seemed more like he did what the kids like to do and "silent quit" on the show, versus outright leaving as he eventually did).

@@The_Moving_finger_writes When Charlie Sheen was part of the show : 5/5 When Ashton Kutcher came and Allen became intolerable : 1.5/5 I'll say watch it till Sheen was there and then watch the finale to conclude.

You will love every minute of the show up until Charlie isn't cast anymore

Alan doesn't hate his brother. Alan is just jealous because Charlie manages to get women and money without much effort while he works and works and gets nothing. Also when they were little Charlie used to annoy him and even stole his girlfriends.

And they say to me yes but said guy gets more, and he doesn’t have to do anything he just stands there lol. So growing up I realize other guys hate that shit. @@davidross5593 pray tell. He is constantly critical of what he does, yet has no qualms about being the beneficiary of Charlie’s actions. He constantly berates his brother and criticizes him for things he himself is guilty of. He thinks he is superior, but that’s only possible because Alan is too much of a loser to actually live Charlie’s lifestyle. All these things are pretty well documented in the show.

Pretty sure that was all either a mid life crisis, Charlie Sheen style, or Charlie was staging madness for a laugh. We know he's a pretty good actor so could totally pull it off. The girls, the "winning" and monkey blood. I'm sure he was just acting the part for his own amusement.

@@EagleOneM1953Obviously it’s impossibile to bring back the show as it was 10 years ago, but I hope that they can create a new series with Alan and Charlie, not young anymore, and that don’t accept this (especially Charlie😂) trying to live their life pretending to be still young… I think this could work and also be funny.

So many years later and Charlie's boozing and gambling caught ip with him and he's dead broke. Alan has become what he always pretended to be, the chiropractor of the Hollywood elite and is making good money... he is finally successful like he dreamt to be and able to buy the house, except now he takes in his brother to sleep in the guest room Jake moved to Europe with a girlfriend or so and is out of the picture so no need to bring him back... Make him an 'unpaid silent actor like Vera on Cheers and Maris on Frazier so you can make it a standing joke that he constantly calls his dad whom he knows ie doing well asking for money... And to add insult to injury Judith is dead broke too and lost her house and Alan, the Putz that he still is decides to take her in as well... Imagine the writers having to work with that... all three in the same. house and none want to have anything to do with either of them....Evelyn is still the same old hag and sometimes is being dragged into another feud between the three....
