This is a bit weird but your video literally saved my finger 😭 To explain: you know how that Addison portion starting after the 10 minute mark goes into how to beat her trap? Well, the wipes I use for my dog’s teeth are in a super similar container: a very rigid plastic set of triangles surrounding a small opening that you can press items into, but cuts into an item and bites down if you pull it out. It’s a good design that’s meant to make pulling out a single wipe rather than the whole thing easy, but the issue arises when you get distracted and accidentally slip a good sized portion of your finger in trying to grab a new wipe. I did this and tried to pull up, only for that biting mechanism to dig in deeper and deeper. I was really beginning to freak out because it hurt a lot and I was trapped in it, but then I remembered this video and the methods you outlined for her to get out, and they worked! I got out of the little finger trap with nothing more than some bruising and minor cuts - way better than losing the full thing. Thank you so much for these videos and have a great night!

After Spiral came out, me and my boyfriend watched the whole Saw franchise (over the course of a few months). And when I saw the ending to Saw 2 it blew my brain because the son was literally in a SAFE place! Eric literally just had to sit and listen like John said. I was like awestruck for about 15 minutes after the movie.

For all its horror, the syringe trap has to be the most horrifying one in the series. Every needle there has been used so the moment she was thrown in there, she got several diseases including HIV.

There's one thing Jigsaw didn't take into account when planning the detective's trap: if you put somebody's kid in danger, the parents are not going to stop and chat with you. They're gonna do whatever the heck it takes to save their kid.

You know, I just thought of something. It's unlikely that you'd die instantly from the Venus flytrap. The skull is extremely thick, and I doubt some dirty nails could pierce the hard bone. Of course it would still pierce every part of your face, but blood still wouldn't gush out of your face like it does in the film as there aren't any large blood vessels in your facial region. The back of the skull would also likely not get pierced, unless the mechanism can apply a crazy amount of torque, which judging by the small size of the gear mechanism, I doubt is the case. Side note: I propose a second solution to this trap. The nails appear to be rusty and dirty, so they are likely fragile. Without triggering the trap, you could gradually break or bend every nail so they each are short enough that your head could fit, if the pipes or cinder block fail to stop it from shutting. Then you just walk out with a giant hunk of metal for a head to the nearest police station or hospital lol

Im so glad you mentioned knocking holes in the walls. when im watching movies or hear stories of people trapped in above ground houses/rooms/walls, etc I always think to myself, if its not brick or concrete, its really not hard to knock holes in a wall

I always wondered why they didn't try to smash through the walls. It's not like John could do much to reinforce them without having to renovate the whole house

The fire trap could also be easily defeated by just assuming that pulling the chain is going to hurt you and lifting an arm to inject it while it's hanging. You can then take the other one out and now you have 2 people already done in the first room.

Not gonna lie. Jigsaw pretty much cringed when he finally found out how badly these people failed.

I love this entire movie series, but that scene of Amanda in the needles is the one part I have to look away from when she goes into the frantic digging mode. But this take on showing how the traps are almost meant to be beaten helps strengthen John Kramer's mission to help people appreciate life by having to go through the tests.

I like how this guy just assumes he'd be all calm and relaxed to think clearly as opposed to being in unbearable fear and panic, acting just on impulse and survival instincts. When you're in fear your life and it's threatened by a time limit short or small calm and relaxed to think clearly is the last and hardest thing you'd be able to do.

John isn't dead-looking in Matthews' car to me, if you look closely he slowly starts to smile, very creepy but always a memorable moment to me (already intense and memorable by design for the entire ending of course, this was the cherry on top, Jigsaw knowing he was right about Eric)

Everyone likes to hate on Allison, calling her dumb, but she was clearly in a delirious state. I doubt she has a clear idea of where she is anymore. I'm not saying she was the brains of the operation, but her mental state shows the toxin's effects, not just whether or not she is intelligent.

when he said "he's in a safe place" I already knew he's in a literal safe, I also knew the timer wasn't a bomb, as a person who has loved these movies, I mostly knew what Jigsaw's clues on every word he says now, not all of them tho

I can handle any kind of gore, but holy shit, the needle pit and the razor trap are so hard to watch

With the mask...you don’t take into account how quickly and powerfully it shuts. Edit: also if he puts his head between pipes what’s he gonna do after it (kinda) shuts? If he moves it shuts, or the immense pressure will eventually break the rusty pipes, like you said in the Saw 1 video rusty pipes are quite soft. So you can’t beat the mask trap in saw 2

There are a few other ways to beat the furnace trap, and it doesn’t require getting inside the furnace for the first method. The first thing to do is to break the glass window on the opposite side of the furnace, then you will need to have someone small and thin like Addison or Amanda to fit by the window frame. Next, have them tie a makeshift handle or rope to the syringe and have them yank off the syringe to get the antidote or maybe have them reach for the antidote. The syringe is not to far from the glass window frame, so getting it through the glass window would be worth a try. This way, the furnace wouldn’t have to close or even burn someone to get the antidote. If that doesn’t work, there’s slightly different approach, they could try to put some large frame object or maybe a small stick or pipe between the furnace door that was open and the frame. Then there would be no way for the furnace to close or at least turn on. So if Obi is in the furnace, all they need to do is have him take the antidotes and of the furnace turns on, he can exit quickly through the opening he crawled through, and if his clothes catch on fire, he could take them off and stomp the flames out.

The main thing I've learned from these videos is that dealing with a Jigsaw trap is like playing classic Castlevania: Don't panic, don't rush, because they're designed to punish that.

Michael in the Venus Fly Trap could have used the scalpel to cut the wire. It might be made of some very hard material but a scalpel is still one of the sharpest blades that exists. There could be a chance to cut the wire since he has endless time until the trigger isn't pulled out

It would be cool if a Saw movie saw people use some of these ideas or escape from the building through a weak point, or somehow jam one of the traps by putting something in the gears.

I have a theory about Obi and his trap. Assuming that the valve he broke off doesn’t control the fire, or if the trap was rigged for it to not be controlled outside, he could’ve turned the valve inside to turn off the fire early and then go for the two antidotes, that way he would’ve been able to live and get the antidotes. Though, granted, it was dark inside and he probably wouldn’t have been able to see it.

The plot twist with the recording was so good.

If theres anything to take note of its that you should always block the doors from shutting behind you. He could have blocked the furnace door and got out when it tried to close

Obi's trap could have been beaten if they had put something in between the door to prevent it from closing

My family and I were driving to visit relatives a few years ago, and we stopped in a Burger King for lunch. There was a big TV right next to our table, and this movie was playing lmao. And it was the needle pit scene and everything! Fun times.

For the needle trap, I imagined everyone using the blankets to sweep away the needles before lowering one person to grab the key when it's revealed

1:30 The pipe would likely not have worked, since they are usually only strong enough to contain an inner pressure and tend to collapse in on themselves when compressed from the outside. (Sure there are strong enough pipes, but I would not expect steam train grade piping here xD) Cool video though, very interesting notes and workarounds!
