Once you get the Flurry rush prompt, rapidly tap Y to execute it. It should be obvious enough because the input is shown on-screen but I should still have mentioned it. As it turns out, I'm not wearing the FULL Fierce Deity set because I forgot to switch out of my flame resist legwear after my session with the Death Mountain Octoroks, so you can expect 20% extra better damage than I show here (more if you upgrade the weapon with attack bonuses)! The opening demonstration at 0:49 IS in the complete Fierce Deity set but I was using my main weapon so expect worse than that. With the fused Royal Broadsword weapon and full Fierce Deity set the Silver Lynel still requires 4x flurry rush but the White-Maned Lynel only requires 3.
You probably know this already, but in case someone else happens to not.. you don't have to wait for the octorok to spit the weapon back at you. As long as he inhales it and chews it at least once, you can shoot it with an arrow and he will drop your upgraded weapon. I wouldn't suggest this if you're low on arrows, obviously.
Imagine switching your weapon at a predictable man a 5th of your size then they bend the space time continuum and move 5x their normal speed, dodging your crap and granting you death via a thousand cuts
Practice is the main thing. I wrote this because the videos I checked don't really explain much like when to backflip or when to side dodge, nor even always what the basic inputs are. They typically don't show all the attacks/Lynel types either.
@@KingX sidehops are a bit of a challenge. Occasionally, I can land one or two. Backflips, I do all the time. To get a flurry rush against those pesky Bokoblins in the Depths. Lynels are a whole different breed.
@@MrArcadia2009 My next video will deal with shield parries which require NO control stick input, just an A press so that's easier. Unfortunately with Lynels you're nerfed after the first mount to only (usually) 3 hits. The main thing is knowing what you're good at or not so if you know you have an issue with sidestepping you can just flurry rush the attacks requiring a backflip and either run from the rest (waiting for the next easy attack) or shield parry them.
Maybe I'll show that as well. Having a badly damaged royal broadsword or something helps for guaranteed crit damage as mounted strikes don't count against durability. You're using 3 items instead of 1 (+ using arrows) and this video is for simplicity. It's an alternative if you want to be more interesting and does have the advantage of not needing to decide between "backflip or side dodge". The thing I don't like with it is only being allowed 3 hits on subsequent mounts. Even without that nerf the most you get is 6 hits instead of 7 and flurry rush power can be boosted by weapon bonus. Still, shield parries are simpler to execute.
