It's SO true! When I had kidney stones, I was literally rolling on the ground in the WORST pain I'd EVER had, I wished to god I was dead. I thought I was dying, and I was in such intense pain, I just wished I hurried up and died. Every time the wave of what felt like my intestines were literally being ripped apart I was thinking "god, please, PLEASE let this be the one that kills me!" It absolutely did NOT make me stronger.

For the record, those cenobites can see. Throughout the series there's many cenobites without eyes, and they still manage to see. They see with their minds. Chatterer passed the friend by because it wasn't his blood they were after. It was Riley's.

So you expect the friend who's only even known cenobites existed for 10 min to think, "They must see with their minds. This Chatterer passed me by because it not my blood they were after. It's Riley's!"? Nerd's speaking from the POV of the characters . He only uses what the characters know at the time to try and figure out how they could've beaten it. He didnt explain that because the characters wouldn't have known it.

If they didn't explain it in the movie, then it isn't true. In previous movies it may have been but this isn't a sequel. It's a reimagining. The box is different, Pinhead is different, the rules are different. Assuming the cenobites are the same is fair but if they don't seem to be able to see, which they don't, then they can't. They clearly were reacting to sound, so in this movie they can't see.

Oh that would be awesome but consider THIS: Nerd Explains is trying to survive a horror movie as the protagonist and Cinema Sins is trying to survive/win as the antagonist. Neither know who the other is and they keep going back and forth, cutting off each other's plans and outsmarting one another. Then at the very end they're at a total standstill before BAM James from Dead Meat comes in and axes them. Final shot is James taking out a clipboard with the words "Kill Count" at the top and drawing two tally marks.

Hellraiser seems like a pretty easy one to beat. Even if you end up finding the cube, there’s a small chance that you’d actually take it. And then again there’s a very small chance you’d try to solve the puzzle. *and then* you might not actually get stuck by the blade if you do. *AND THEN* if you do get stuck with a blade you can literally prick somebody you deem worth killing and they’d simply disappear. Or you can commit suicide before they actually get to you, meaning you actually have defeated them by not playing their game and defying their will.

So why are the Cenobites in this hellraiser essentially Genie's? If what they want is sacrifices and all that really meets their quota is to get stabbed, why not just have a ritual dagger that grants wishes, instead of a puzzle box? In the orginal, the Cenobites wanted people who sought out the box, and it being a puzzle meant you had to be deliberate in how you interacted with it. A dude picking it up as an afterthought, and getting stabbed by it, only to then be tormented to death brings very little meaning to it being a puzzle outside of the reasoning "well it was in the original." Pinhead turned down a victum because she didn't seek the box nor really opened it out of desire, and actually sought the guy who lead to it being opened. This kinda just feels like a horror movie with Genies, rather then a hellraiser movie, just with more bdsm overtones. I could probably forgive it for being more wish granter, if people getting fucked was due to them actually trying to solve the puzzle box, rather then it just being a over glorified knife.

@@teetheluchador I think it would have been better if the box-knife was not involved and solving the puzzle would make amazing shapes and tunes to make the person believe the cenobites even how awful they look "might" just can grant you your wish. Or plots to give some way to actually negotiate with the cenobites when the opener was forced to, or did not even know its function. If this was the original, Pinhead would say "fetch the billionaire or we would sadly have to make it with you".

Dude suffered immense pain on all levels and is traumatized for life now from that experience and from losing his boyfriend. I have been thirsting for a good Hellraiser reboot. even if she stabbed the second one nothing would have happened (at least at first) since they closed the gates right after it stepped inside. and like voidt said, the cage outside the house was made to either contain them or keep them out. even stabbing the second cenobite, the others could not reach him to finish the job and they'd be stuck inside with a violent cenobite on speed balls until they opened the gates at least.

Interesting fact: the original pinhead was originally planned to be a female, but they changed it so Pinhead be a male in the original Hellraiser series.

In combat, tourniquet is a first approach method to extremity wounds. That is why we all kept them in the same place to be used on our flak jackets. I don't have time to see if a pressure dressing is gonna do the job when I gotta send rounds down range. What stops the bleeding immediately and allows me to get my buddy and his mangled ground beef arm back to base? A tourniquet! If I had the time to make sure that the wound is clean and other steps, sure, let's start from least damaging in the first aid kit and work our way up. Maybe put some iodine on it. Try to change out some bandages. When seconds count, tourniquet and quick clot is the best first aid you will get Marine to Marine. Not every patrol was blessed with a Corpsman, so I was the next best thing. I could create an airway in your esophagus with a Bic pen tube. However, anytime I would operate on someone's throat, I would give them the decency of enough punches to the face to knock them out. No way am I gonna let them experience me slicing them open with my Gerber with both eyes open... I did it to 2 pigs and seen how gruesome it could be. Maybe, if I didn't like the guy I would...

This is one of my new favorite movies. I haven't been made physically nauseous by movie since 2013 evil dead when Natalie had to saw her own arm off. The scene when the cenobites are toturing Nora made me light headed. It just felt real. I havent actually felt bad for a character in a movie in a LONG time. Nor has a movie made me pause it since 2013. Before that no movie did. Movies are getting wild. And I've seen people be un-alived online.

Respect to the makeup artists here! Mikeyrots and so many others joined the prosthetics team to make this movie what it is. The set photos of the Cenobites and the test videos of the chest sewing itself back together are insane to view unedited. So much love and passion went into every appliance on film here and it is a JOY to see all the artists and actors collectively excited to portray these creatures.
