It seems to be more effective from what i have seen and it is more used. It is about being patient with the amount of time needed to end the specific stage but not wasting a single moment more. Often you would not know exactly what the other person is like to their core, you only know several basic things including the fact they are human. He probably will not be himself at the moment and it is likely his more human and emotional part will only make his brain doubt and worry and be confused between everything he knows and have to expect. He may try to create some pattern and plan, a list of things he have to check but this will probably only make it harder for him to focus on the current situation itself. In such confusion he may even appear as one of the weakest players. Now, you should only worry not be placed with some psychopath as your enemy
