In this video I show you how to correctly connect and setup the TX-NR830 for Bi-amping to get the best audio for stereo playback. In fact this tutorial will help you on all of the new AVR's in the 2018 range that allow for Bi-amping.

Hi there, I find this fuctionality really interesting but, on my opinion, the passive crossover inside the loudspeaker can be a problem to obtain the benefits of bi-amping, if it would be possible to use the internal EQ of this receiver as an active crossover bipassing physically the filters of the loudspeaker then you should obtain a real improovement in sound quallity.

I have the TX-NR 808 WITCH IS A NICE RECEIVER I LIKE HOW ON THE TX-RZ830 THE SET UP MIX HAS DIFFERENT PITCHES. SO IT CAN ACT MORE VARIETY OF SOUNDS LIKE A REAL SPEAKER. AND THE LOOK SORTA REMINDS ME OF A NAD RECEIVER. THAT'S MY OUT PUT THANKS AND THAT'S MY OUT LOOK ON THIS VIDEO

I have 2 klipsch rp8000f ii front left and right tower speakers with an onkyo tx-nr6100 7.2 channel receiver. Today i decided to bi amp the speakers. Everything improved the highs mids and definitely the bass, but there is one problem... some sounds have moved to opposite direction i can notice this in certain songs ive always listened to and especially in games. When i test the left and right channels on the setup i can hear both at the same time instead of hearing just one speaker when switching between left and right. I can also tell it sounds more to the left when it should be only the right speaker making noise and vice versa. Is this a normal thing when bi amping?? Or is something wrong? I double checked all the connections and they are done correctly. I kind of regret bi amping them now because its a pain in the butt to get behind the system and put the jumpers back on... games are useless to me now since the sound is on opposite directions.

maybe this is stupid question,Speakers are rated 100w,amp gives 100w per chanell( all good till now ) if i bi amp them like on the video,will they get 200w ? wont i burn them ?
@u8myufo
@u8myufo 5 лет назад
I could be wrong but,you state that you take the right hand main to the low channel right hand speaker . From what I can see that looks right when you have all for connections done. However, that is looking at it from the rear,from the front your right hand speaker is in fact now your left hand speaker, yes?
@OnkyoEU
@OnkyoEU 5 лет назад
Hi, that depends on the point of view: having finished cabling, turning around each speaker and the AVR, the speaker on the right will be the right channel speaker, and the speaker previously on the left will be the left channel speaker...

Hello, nice video. I own an Onkyo TX-RZ900 Amp. I am hoping they will have a similar functionality. That said, I am using two passive tower speakers from JBL Northridge (Quite old) but I love their sound. Would bi-amping require exact same pair of wires because I suppose we need 2 separate pairs (4 set of speaker cables)? I already have a pair connected which I don't think I want to replace. So any new brand would work or they have to be the exact same specs? Thanks' Sam..
@OnkyoEU
@OnkyoEU 6 лет назад
Hi Sam, let puts it like this: bi-amping is often one of the last things to consider to optimize sound. The basics needs to be done first (e.g. proper setup, good cables, etc.). Often it's difficult to notice a real difference before/after enabling bi-amping, as this depends on many factors, including speakers - and cables. For optimized audio quality, you should the same cables - and ideally even the same cable length (e.g. not using a 10m cable for left and a 0.5 m cable for right - only because the receiver is close to the right front speaker). Using different cables for bi-amping can end in noticable but "unexpected" listening experience. So - ideally - please use the same cables for all speakers. If this is not possible, please try to use cables that will be as close as possible to the specs of the existing cables... Thanks for asking!

@@OnkyoEU Thank you, I will keep in mind when I get to it..for now I will have to bench the project since I am way deep in my investment and will figure out some other time to get the cables aligned before I bi-amp..

No article on biamping is complete without detailed instructions for biamping should one of both speaker inputs be used with a separate amp which connects to AVR by preamp out.

hi there, I have a question: I'm currently running 5.2 on a nr686 receiver, but thinking to add a bookshelf atmos. How can I hook this up? Do you think bi wiring can work by using 4 connectors LR to front height back of the receiver? I know I can just use Atmos module for Atmos but I want to add more sound.

I have my computer connected to an Onkyo TX-RZ820 receiver that outputs sound to 5.1 speakers. When I listen to music on "direct" or "pure audio" mode, I only get audio from front left & front right speakers. Is there a way for me to get audio from front left, front right, & subwoofer? Thanks

Can anyone tell me off its possible to add some type of power amp to my Onkyo txrz800 receiver? Ive just added a set of psb imagine fx to my monitor audio silver RX6, however, in Atmos mode, I loose my rear back MA FX speakers. Obviously as amps 7.2 not 9ch. Wondering if a small thin style power amp can be connected to Onkyo to power the psb Atmos and MAudio fx rears, or or front 3 speakers? I'd like to be able to adjust onkyo volume to adjust onkyo and connected receiver respectively. Any help?

Bi-wire is useless. With bi wire you are doing the same thing that gold plated connectors between low and high frequencies but just with wires😅 Only bi amping will give you better sound, not bi wiring.

Bi-wiring doesn't do anything, Bi-amping is a whole different story, if you set your amp to Bi-Amp (Bi-amping) your amp (if you have removed the bridge from your speakers of course) will pass the mids, highs, and lows separately, then you use the Surround Back L and R for lows, and the regular Front L and R for mids and highs, but if you do Bi-wiring you just plug the two cables on your amp into the same port, which ensures that nothing changes. Don't let anyone tell you that you can hear the difference between Bi-wiring and just 1 cable per speaker. I have done Bi-Amp on my Denon AVR-X2700H, and it sounds and works fantastic, i done the same with my Onkyo TX-NR609 reciver for 10 years, until he stopped working a month back, the only thing i do not like with the Denon AVR-X2700H over my Onkyo TX-NR609, is that the Denon AVR-X2700H does not have Dolby Pro Logic IIz anymore, and uses Dolby Surround, DTS Neural:X, DTS Virtual:X, or DTS:X, that sounds not as good as Dolby Pro Logic IIz.
