I want to give you a hug! Ha ha! I spent all afternoon trying to figure out why my XM+ receiver wasn't working. I updated my Radiomaster Tx16s, I tried another radio, I tried CLI commands to bind... Thank you. Because of your video, I am about to do a test flight with my Nazgul 5 V2. I did have to temporarily solder the wires from the connector to the for the TX16S to the XM Plus but otherwise went just as you showed. Perfect! Thanks again .

I appreciate this video. I was mind boggled for 2 days over this receiver's binding issue. It does help to choose the right receiver firmware from the frsky website. I was lead to believe in other videos that the XM+ ran the R-XSR firmware, which will immediately shut the update process down and give a (FW update error, data refused) message on the transmitter. After seeing this, i chose the right firmware and within 30 minutes i had my quad finally in the air. My 6th build and still running into headaches, Lol. Thanks again

Awesome, well presented and easy to follow. I came across your video and forgot I had used it before. Frustrating XM receivers but great when they work. Moving the transmitter away during binding also made a difference in the end. Many thanks.

It has been a frustrating ordeal for a couple people PMing me. I try so hard to describe what is needed, however, the tech is just a little too out there for them. So, 6.5 hours of editing after a 2 hour film session - Here's my best explanation, Lol.. I sure hope it helps someone.. I very much appreciate a tip of the goggles kind sir...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

I've had the same problems with these newer receivers even when trying to bind them to my x9d plus se transmitter. The older xm plus receivers bound up just fine though. I have the exact same problem with my new radiomaster. Older versions of the xm plus bind without any issues. Now I can change the firmware on all of my newer xm plus receivers, which have been collecting in one of my storage drawers, waiting for me to learn a simple way to make them work. Thanks!

I'm very happy this was helpful. Frsky made this transition to proprietary software and confused everyone because all the videos previously didn't reflect that information. I ran into this problem the other day for the 10th time lol. I got so sick of I just have been binding them to my Taranis Qx7 instead of messing with it. I'm glad you made this video because the more solid information I have on this subject the more I can narrow down the problem. Gotta love frsky for doing this genius move.

@@propsoff cm plus used to be more. I bought a bunch of the radiomaster d8 receivers for 8 or so bucks now they want 17 for them. I know it's a sore subject for all of us but I'm afraid after the "shortage" all these high prices will be the norm.

There are lots of things to learn. The tech moved so fast and new ideas came out and were abandoned; Thus, creating an even larger learning curve. Personally, I enjoy the ability to modify every enth, however, it makes entry into the hobby more difficult. I'm glad this helped and offered some insight. Did you see my giveaway? Thank you for the info. I'm still leaning all I can about building and programming rc stuff whether I want to go easy and expensive or not so easy but affordable. So far it's spectrum or radiomaster. The flexibility of rm interests me more.

I have the entire how to swap Rxsr out for Elrs video filmed. Just need to edit it. It's really difficult to grasp, however, once you do, it's so simple. I think people going from Frsky to Elrs have it harder - like learning a foreign language.

This video was so helpful! I just finished flashing my receivers. Everything worked out perfectly. Is there a way to flash the newest version of the crossfire nano rx to the previous firmware? If so, would you please show us ho to do that?

Dude! You are the great! I solved the same problem with your help! XM+ binded with TS16S MKII with XM+FCC170313-RSSI16 firmware. But why TDX16S did not work with v2 firmware?

This is a great question, most likely no. The XM+ should bind up with no issues. This video was intended mostly for those that are having problems (wrong firmware was loaded and needed straighten out).. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Great video. Thanks! I have a TX16s coming tomorrow to replace my QX7. All my quads use the xm+ receiver, so if I have problems switching the quads over and won't bind, I will know why and what to do. I don't seem to find the vid you did on a 5v power supply.

I appreciate your kind words of encouragement.. I too dropped the QX7 for the RadiomasterTX16S. Haven't looked back, however, the TX16S has ridiculously tall gimble sticks. I made a video of how to drop them down to feel more comfy for me as a "thumber".. I'll link that video below. Here's the quick and very inexpensive 5v supply video. great in depth video showing the problem people might be experiencing and how it was fixed. Only critique, the linked videos you mention are not in the description, A short and sweet version of this with just the facts for the XM+ and non frsky radio. knock it out in 3 min. That would get 5 stars from me. Ill check out the ones you referenced in the video when I locate them.

Sir, a big thanks for the video! With it I was finally able to bind TX16S Multi to FlyWoo CineRace with XM+ on board. However, I can't manage to get proper stick response in BF, actually there is no reaction in the Receiver tab for the stick movement (although, I see the bind went well, because of green diod). I was just wondering, maybe I should go back from the latest 2.3.15 to older one?

2.3.15 should be fine. I ready the notes and didn't see anything that would make me believe the OpenTX update would cause an issue. You have Frsky X as the protocol for the Mutl-Module?

Hello props I got a doozy of a ? I haven't been able to find an answer for.. ok so with the radiomaster tx16s and the internal access mod that I have done to it allows me to run access on all the latest access recievers and it has done so absolutely flawlessly no eggsagurating either not one fault this has been on open tx radio fermwear though now the ? Is would edgeTX be able to run all the same recievers I run now (frisky r9 mini, mm, sx, slim, mx and the stab) I can't find info on this I realize not a lot of ppl even know about this but was really hoping you mite know seeing how you seem to have a wide knowledge of and about the RMtx16s thank you for anything you can share on the subject and I'm sorry if this wasn't the right place to ask this I dont know how to search for certain videos anyway fly happy crash happy. :)

Your right to say there's not that much information about this question you present. EdgeTX is a fork from OpenTX and should work as OpenTX currently is functioning. That said, I have moved away from Frsky and didn't continue educating myself with Frsky's proprietary protocol. I would theorize that if the hack works on OpenTX, it should work on EdgeTX. I apologize, I have abandoned Frsky a while ago and am currently switching everything to ExpressLRS; Therfore I won't be having any more Frsky content on my channel.. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Has this only been a problem more recently because i got the beta95x v2 when it first came out with an xm+ and it binded up fine with my TX16S. Or did i just get lucky

I think it's been recently. I was having to explain the process so much I decided to make a video. I've seen other videos that are 5 minutes long and it's ridiculous. There's no way someone can understand what's going on in a 5 minute video, so here's a longer version... HAHA...🤣

@@propsoff yeah idk why some channels think it’s ok to make a how to video and not show or explain everything. If i were to make a video explaining something it would only be common sense that i would show every little step and detail from start to finish. Or at least if you’re not gonna show certain steps like soldering wires they should show a before and after picture so you know what it should look like. There has been too many times where i didn’t get the information i needed because of videos like that when all they had to do is press record and not stop until everything is finished

Ever find a way to bind to ACCST V2? In V2 they fixed the random problem of V1 ACCST disarming during failsafe. Never mind, V2 Needs FRSKYX2 D16!

Yes, it's fine to power the Frsky XM+ without the antenna. The R-xsr and other receivers that have telemetry can not. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Why can’t you just put the servo plug in the servo plug on the bottom of the radio? Does it have to go on the bay pins?🤔

I know Radiomaster said the expansion Uarts on the bottom could possibly update receivers, however, there has been no addendums to the user manual that I could find to update Frsky receivers. I know the external module bay works. Also, it is the way to update for the people that watch this that are T16 users - the T16 has no ports on the bottom. Place your video link here of how to do it that way. I'm sure people would be interested in doing it that way too.. Thanks...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

Judging from the sticker on my XM+ I need the version with the LBT in it.

@@janspoelstra8309 Yes, LBT is for EU.. www.frsky-rc.com/xm-plus-mini-sbus-non-telemetry-full-range/ Go to the above and look at the bottom download. In the zip file there will be an LBT option..

@@propsoff Found it! Uploading it to the receiver was a bust; the display showed: 'device not responding'. My efforts to only use the signal wire and the gnd with a seperate 5V for the receiver also didn't work. This video showed me another way, via the TX16S software option: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mP77l9Ybh5A.html Unfortunately this didn't work either...

Xm+ receiver no upgrades on the tx12 same sd card + firmware that I used for a previous xm+receiver flash that worked the kwad gods are against me

@@tracypippenger4806 Try deleting the XM+ firmware file from your SD card and reload the "History" version directly to your SD card from Frsky. Your flashing the "External" module, yes?

You can bind as many as you want. If you have 12 race quads and they are all identical, you can have one model on your radio and bind all 12, to that model. Of course, you can only power up one and fly it.. Well, unless your doing a silly video for RotorRiot, lol.. Enjoy the Breeze...👍🏻🍻👊🏻

I can't get neither the xm+ or the r81 frsky receiver to my tx12... i just started this hobby and only have those 2 receiver for my 2 drones and none of them work with my tx12 idk what's going on

@@propsoff I haven't tried to flash the rx because I have 3 drones that won't bind to the tx12. I updated the firmware, int. Module and SD cards content and the R81 rx don't bind anymore. The xm+ never wanted to bind and I have a tinyhawk that just stopped working before I even update the radio. I really dont know what to do at this point. Any help would be appreciated

@@propsoff exactly. Haven't flashed any receiver and they will bind before I updated the radio. To update the radio I followed this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zQGrlxWDEJs.html. Latest firmware and SD card contents that I didn't have them. I think that's all I did.

Great video but it did not work with the Radiomaster TX12, after downgrading the firmware to XM+LBT170313-RSSI16 (EU). It still wont bind. Guess I have to buy an R-XSR instead. -_-

Look at the bottom of your radio, is it LBT or FCC?

If your radio is FCC, you need to use the firmware version I used in the video...

not bad video, but you missed one last very important step, and that is, RF tuning. you have to tune each rx to get proper rssi signal to the transmitter.

Good note, however, the intent here is to simply understand why the two won't bind and how to fix that. Did you make a video that you can link here showing the RF tuning? If not, I will grab a link from my buddy John.

@@jkr5787 I was giving Marcel an opportunity to link one of his videos here, I reckon he doesn't have one. Also, the XM+ does not offer telemetry and is not going to send RSSI back to the Multi protocol module in the RadiomasterTX16S, therefore, I'm not sure what he's talking about. Lol, an Apple play is right.. I was actually surprised how many people reached out to me within the last couple months. I figured 6.5 hours of my time and $12 making this video was easier than explaining this to each individual and they still not quite understanding.. What's super funny is how Frsky got mad at Jumper. Frsky totally ripped of JR and Futaba and undercut them back in the day.. I admit, I had to buy an XM+ just to see what the heck was going on, some of these stories from new players were out there, lol.. Enjoy the Breeze bugsy...👍🏻🍻👊🏻
