How To BIOS Mod ALL RX470/480/570/580 4&8GB GPU's (HYNIX/ELPIDA/SAMSUNG/MICRON)

BRICKED CARDS SOLUTION: I bricked my MSI rx580 gaming x 3 days after I purchased it LOL but I discovered a easy way to fix it. My msi doesn´t have a bios restore switch so... This is how you can fix them... You must have a working bios ( I hope you made a back up of the original) then the trick is as follws: Turn off the PC and remove your GPU (rx580 rx 480 etc.) 1.-Enter to the motherboard bios 2.- Find the INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CONFIGURATION 3.-Change PEG for IGD (This will disable the pci-e bus so windows will boot with Motherboard integrated GPU) Save and Exit 4.- Turn off the PC and conect your monitor to the Motherboar and reinstall your beloved bricked GPU 5.-Turn on your PC and windows will boot normally. 6.- Install your Rx580/480 bios with AtiwinFlash in CMD 8.- Reboot your Pc and restore the motherboard bios config to PEG so you can boot with the GPU. 9.- Conect your monitor to the GPU and turn it on. 7.-Donate a litle if you have a good heart 35y2SQKfeGBa5eVacZFYveRRstsSC5U8WB 8.- Enjoy your fully functional graphic card!!! 9.- Give a tumbs Up to this comment so others can see it. 10.- Cheers from México! May I say how handy this video has been for me? I had about 70 Rx470s which I learned how to bios mod about a year ago. But recently, I've got my hands on a large number of RX570s and Rx 580s 4&8GB. And this video made my life so much easier since I'm dealing with many different MBs and risers and PSUs and majority of them are second handed and have problems of their own. So having this part of the work done like a piece of pie, specially when you just nutshell it in the beginning for ppl like me who know what they're doing, made my life so much easier! So.... Hey everybody, if you are trying to mine and getting a "no card detected" error, or you cant open up Relive, its because you need to go into the atikmdag-patcher file and have the drivers re signed. Hope this could help somebody out. Was pretty scary for me.

Good evening, I used you video to mod my rx 470 bios (4g from Elpida) and I went through all the steps without any problem. But, there is always a but, after ATI winflash asked me to restart my gpu was no longer recognised by any software, not even radeon utility. I tried DDU but it changed nothing. I was able to flash my card back to it's original bios and everything worked again. Have you got an idea why ?

Bro, this is THE ONLY way that worked for my Rx 480 Strix, all other tutorials telling me to use "One click timings patch" ended up glitching everything and the card couldn't work stable even with atikmdag-patcher. This was so simply explained, thank you, good job!

For RX570/580 series cards copy the following straps: 4GB versions: Copy 1:1500 to 1:1625, 1:1750, 1:2000 and the 2:1500 to 2:1625, 2:1750, 2:2000 you didn't do that in the video you just did 2:1500 to 2:1625, 2:1750, 2:2000 what about 1:1500 to 1:1625, 1:1750, 1:2000

Thanks but you should not use gpuz to save bios, it can brick your card, always use atiwinflash

This is very basic bios mod and it won't work on every card, for the newest RX 5xx cards Polaris Bios Editor doesn't have to work right. Bios mod can be done much better with performance timings, undervolting VDDC, etc. My tutorial shows it very quickly.

So lets say you get one of the saphire nitro+ cards that has a 4GB sticker on top of the actual 8GB original printing of the package. I have modded these cards to 8GB by changing the value of the Size(MB) field in the VRAM box of Polaris BOIS editor. does the 1500mhz memory strap still get copied to all the following fields, or do we change the card to 8GB as stated above, and use the 1750 strap?

I have a question, i'm about to biosmod a RX470 based Rig with Elpida and Hynix memories, when i'm editing the times with Polaris 1.5 i get a 1.1500 strip and a 2.1500, this last one is the one you edit on the video (2cond example you use), so my questios is if you also copy the 1-1.500 strip to all above, or if i should only copy the 2-2.500 strip to all 2-XXXabove and leave the 1XXX as default

I saw that on another video..have not tried your way yet, will do it in two days..I tried everything like you did but i run that patcher for drivers after it and i didnt got any better speeds..I have RX570 4gb elpide and cant go higher then 24

Changes made on the amd bios mod settings, does it save save the settings into the graphics card or on the computer hard drive? Not sure if the graphics card has any kind of memory chip to save any settings applied to it. Just curious cos I'm trying to move from windows OS to Simple mining OS, trying to see if the edited Bios mode will work on SMOS as well. Thanks!

My xfx RX470 4GB has a 0:1900 strap . Do I also paste the 1500 value into this strap? Is it safe to do that?

help any micron bios modified for the sapphire rx 480 nitro (no nitro+) to be stable because every time I play something like the RE2 throws me a black screen but it only happens with demanding games, they told me it was the bios and I tried one of the pag Vga collections Bios and nothing. but if I overclock it hard it takes me longer so I ask for a bios plox

Okay, did all this, works great without overclock at ~25mhs. Thank you for that. I have an issue though with my xfx rx570 when I try to overclock in MSI afterburner. When I enable unofficial overclocking without/with powerplay (doesn't matter they both do the same) The GPU only uses about 20 watts of power regardless of clock and only hashes at 4 mhs. The other issue is, when I click the check box for "Extend official overclocking limits" it asks for reboot, I reboot and open MSI afterburner and the checkbox is unchecked. Could that be the issue aforementioned? I appreciate any help

I can confirm that 1:1500 to 1:1625, 1:1750, 1:2000 and the 2:1500 to 2:1625, 2:1750, 2:2000 works on two identical PowerColor RX570 4GB Red Dragons. Core: 1150; Mem: 2100 (No voltage tweaking for now). Important: This only works on Solo mining. Results: Claymore 9.5 ETH: 28.8MH/s

Hi, great video! I did the BIOS mod for my RX580. Had it running and started messing with the memory OC. My screen went black with no signal to the monitor. Fans still run on my GPU. Tried to reseat the GPU, different cables, etc. with no luck. Put it a different GPU and it works so the PCI slot is fine. Did I fry my GPU??? Is there anything to do about it?

I've got a question, I have 2x Gigabyte Aorus RX 570 4GB cards. Memories are overclocked to 2180mhz, the clock is 1075. In claymore miner they mining with 24,5 Mhash. Will this BIOS mod improve they efficiency? I heared that since august/september efficiency of these cards dropped due the dag size. So now, after my OC, is this max what they can do, or should i try BIOS mod? And what will be performance after that? My cards have Hynix memories.

I have a MSI 980ti Armour 2x and flashed my GPU bios. At first I thought it was stable as I increased the voltage settings and power limit to 200%. Then I saw that the voltage was being limited and the power limit was causing problems. The overclock seemed better but then the temps rose to 91 degrees, which caused the card to down clock a lot. Right now I'm just glad I didn't brick it. I didn't save a stock bios so does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Hello. I have a GPU that has 1:1875 memory strap, in between 1:1750 and 1:2000. This is a recently purchased ASUS RX 570 Elipeda memory bios edited by the RX5xx version of bios editor. Do I copy 1:1500 into 1:1875 as well?

question about bios modding, i have a 580 8gb with the switch on it for either compute or graphic, i noticed after i flashed it i had the switch on compute and i found its hash was low, 21 mhs, like a stock card. should the switch be on graphic after modding the bios? or did the modded bios not take and i have to flash again?

I have the XFX RX580 8GB GPU with samsung memory and in the polaris bios editor it is showing me timings like 1:1750, 1:2000 and 2:1750, 2:200 and 2:2250. Do i need to copy the strap from the 1:1750 to the 1:2000 and the strap from 2:1750 to 2:2000 and 2:2250? Thanks for the help!

I've tested them in two PC's with win 10 & 7 + linux. Blockchain drivers, etc... Thoughts? (two cards, both same results)

hi, great video, just I have some issue with flashing Sapphire RX 580/4gb/Hynix. After following your video after successful flash and reboot got some bios beeps (8 of them= VGA memory error). The rig boots after beeps, just no regular info on the monitor about MB and other stuff in it. Mining start and after couple seconds all frizzes.

i have a xfx rx480 8G RS the timings mods ended up braking my bios. i was able to recover bios because i backed up and was able to rest using the duel bios (booting from the working bios switch to the bricked one wile it was still on and flashed to the normal bios for that slot and restart) i did run into another problem was after the reboot it was hanging on the MB Bios screen not doing nothing. i forced shutdown 3 times to trigger a clear cmos. what was making the hang was the uefi mode so i had to do a clear cmos to re-enable legacy mode. it seems like after flashing the gpu corrupted the security key for secure boot. here is a tip before staring the flash make sure your uefi mode is set to legacy. revert back if it was when your are done

I followed steps exactly as instructed but when I click the "Program" button it starts to apply it then screen went white and crashed. Now GPU won't mine? But GPUZ still can read the card. Any ideas?

the 500 series folder when go to download it is a .rar file then you cut over and its got a bunch of files in it. I need a x570 armor 4gb Hynix . apparently the work card on the planet to mod I cant get it over stock 21.3mh. I got 2 of them. I might return them but I was lucky enough to find any right now. there sold out every where. I heard people getting 27mh+ but I'm new to bios and everything I try in makes the card not even readable when I turn my computer back on. I have tried anoraks versions of the bios that work for everyone else with the same card as me and mine dont even get recognized by claymore after bio.any advice? please and thank
