How To: Break in a Stiff Hat 

I wet my hair and wear hat in the sun 15-30 Minutes several times a day watering garden-after a week is feels right

Can you show how to stiffen the brim of the hat?

Just purchased a hat and the brim is as stiff as plywood (not quite an exaggeration). I steam it and it softens up, but then as it dries it hardens up again. Do I just keep doing this and just continue to be persistent; or is there another way. I almost feel like I should soak it in just a tiny bit of water to get whatever was used to stiffen it out of the brim. Help - any advice??

Stupidest advice ever. No hat will breaking in. A proper stretch with steamer may bring the hat back to initial point. It is always better to find a hat that is little loose then tight.
