I have a 1995 ford f250 2wd that I'm converting to 4wd, and I've been getting some advice from people about running a solid dana 60 front axle rather than a Ford ttb axle, would I still be able to use the same bottom coil spring retainers, radius arm brackets, and all that? In other words, would a dana 60 axle be a straight bolt on or would I have to get different mounts for it?
(For anyone considering what OP asked) The OBS Dana 60 was designed for leaf springs. If you want a coil spring OBS Dana 60, you’d need to weld radius arm or link brackets to the axle itself, as well as coil bucket. The 78-79 Ford Dana 44 came with coils and radius arms so this is the simplest way of running a coil setup. You can also look into 2005+ Ford Superduty (F250/F350) front Dana 60 axles, as they came with coils.
