If you have a son or family member, get him pounding these things out and selling them. I'm sure a lot of people would buy these. That things got some really good style and small enough to go in and fairly small vehicle.

If I may, just measure your center lines when you go to brad nail. Save yourself a ton of time marking that out like that. That way you Brad nail on the line all the way down. Simple simple simple you can't miss the center. And uniform as well

I wouldn't trust my Lowes guy to take the cap off my water bottle let alone make precise cuts to a sheet of $100 plywood.

I can usually tell before they start cutting if they're going to botch it. The ones that screwed up just have a certain attitude about them.

I need some help with my port on a box I built for a 15in ds18 hooligan wings and 12volt calculate my port to be 32hz box is 3.55 cf after displacement but when i check it withmy days v3 it shows 44hz the port is 10.75 x4 x27L. Only thing I can think of is the sub is so big the date can't read it.

The same goes for Oak and other hardwood varieties. These veneers do not finish well with contact glue because there is no compression involved on the grain and contact glue never sets, it remains tacky throughout its life. It is meant for countertops that have a hard phenolic veneer, that lies perfectly flat. Also, with some wood fillers it will react and cause swelling, particularly if you have screwed the panels anywhere. There is no substitute for cold press veneering using standard wood glue. You just need a fast setting wood glue, a few clamps and some old board to flatten the veneer. Make sure that both the veneer and the MDF have a layer of glue. Two coats of glue on the veneer is optimum. You can do opposite sides to save time. The finish is perfectly flat with no 'float' or softness to it. If you can afford it, buy a trim router with a flush bit - this takes off the excess veneer perfectly. Whiteside also have a bit with a very small head that allows you to trim the cutouts to the depth of the speaker plate

Hey man, not sure if you can make a video showing the response differences between a bass tube and a bass box. For instance a 20" subwoofer in a vented or sealed encloser or 10" woofer in a bass tube.
@whodat90
@whodat90 8 месяцев назад
I always oversize overlapping pieces by an eight of an inch or so and use a flush cut router bit to match them perfectly.
@DIYAudioGuy

That's not a bad strategy.

you can easily get bits and trees from whiteside, jessum lifts can be had for around 180. menards sells great routers for 89.00 on sale. i have four of them. harbor freight has cheap dust collectors that work great on these routers if its close enough (for a diy id think it would be). all in your under a grand. you can then take what ever you have to make some rings. a few hours work to make some rough templates that can pair with your bearing tree and then your set for getting close to everything you may want to do.
@DIYAudioGuy

I have one of those Harbor Freight dust collectors and it does a great job of sucking up my router dust.

wood being as expensive as it is today. if you get a section way out of whack like you did. you can parallel it on the table saw. then cut strips to take up your distance, i recommend at least 1/2" so cut more off than you need. glue/clamp those and boom. your port section is salvaged for a bit of saw time and some scrap chunks of wood. once the visable port is painted, you cant see that line. if your worried you could even bondo over a bit but its often not needed. just a bit of sanding
@DIYAudioGuy

Does the sub to port placement effect sound? Can a port be on the back wall of the box? Can the sub be placed in front of the port opening or should it be as far away as possible
@DIYAudioGuy

Unless the port is loading off of a wall it should make no difference. A 40hz wave is 28 ft.
