Thank you for taking the time to share a wonderful idea. Mabe next time the camera person can do a better job of showcasing the rack. A top to bottom showcase to show all the details. Not just the work being done. Barely had looks of the complete rack.

Thank you for this helpful design video. Built it in less than 1.5 hrs. once boards were all cut. Could not find 1” x 2” boards so we ripped 1”x 3” furring strips on a table saw and they were still strong enough to hold the weight of each cabinet door. That gave us 4 arm/rail pieces per 8’ board. We did not have any plywood scrap for the triangular pieces…so we attached the 6’ vertical supports to the center/side of bottom 2” x 4” x 3’ boards perpendicular to each other and then attached the lower cross support just above that which stabilized the rack very well. That saved a little bit of $. Very happy with the results. 👍

Cutting the arms from 2x4 will be cheaper than buy the 1x2 board. From one 2x4x8 you can have 8pc for arm.

Just a minor 'adder' on your build. Other builds suggest a dowel for the 'arms' as it has less of a 'touch point' on the doors. As you mention, that many dowels quickly adds to the cost. You can accomplish the same thing by cutting a 45 bevel on the top edge of each arm - this provides a sharp edge that the door can rest on - thus minimizing any damage to the wet paint surface.
