Dylan Cooper thanks Dylan and if I can build a stand you definitely can too :) give it a shot and let me know if I can help in any way. Have a great day
I used maple, which should be fine for your budgies/parakeets. Just make sure you strip the bark, soak it and scrub it with soap and water. Good luck can't wait to hear about your birdies new perch :)
I'm using pine tree from back yard sock w vinager water in tub for 1hr let it dry outside since it's hot will place them in oven 200-250° for idk 1hr an tadaaaa hope my budgies like it🥰
Really appreciate that, however, I just built this for my parrot. You can totally do it yourself and will save you so much money. I will be building another one out of pvc pipe in the near future which I will post step by step so stay tuned ;)
The bleach will kill any bacteria and/or insects living in the branch. No, branches from Fruit Trees are NOT SAFE for your feathered friend. Good luck on your stand :)
I used branches from a Maple Tree. My African Grey loves to chew wood as well and he hasn't chewed thru any of the branches. Nice thing about making your own is, you can add more branches along the way as well as replace any that need to be replaced :)
realy nice! but you dont realy need to peel of the skin of the branch, the parrots will do that them selves!! its fun and entertaining for them, besides sanding down all the irregularities and making it sooth and soft makes the paw always being on the same surface, they need to have ruff material like the skin of the branch.
My parakeet keeps falling when she flies around my room because she has no where to land. She ends up freaking out and getting scared and I need something where she can land safely after she take flight.
Very nice. You probably don't even need to sand the perches down at all. Might be better for their feet if they are a bit rougher and easier to grip, depending on how big the bird is vs the perch.
I appreciate it and appreciate the comment. The reason that I decided to sand the branches was to get rid of any possible bacteria and or bugs that might of been living on the branches. I again appreciate you and hope you have an awesome day
The main thing you need for this stand is to find a good branch. The base I made with leftover plywood, the backing to my cabinets and 1x4 lumber that I got out of the scrap bin at Menards :) can't wait to see yours :)
You can make your stand out of different wood, just check to make sure that wood is safe for your bird. You can also use pvc pipe which I am planning on making one soon and will post it once I complete it. Good luck on your stand :)
I used extra baseboard from the island I installed in our kitchen. You can use anything for the base would just recommend using something easy to clean and won't soak up liquids. I put newspaper over it when the birdie is on his stand :)
Hello I have a silver birch tree outside near my area, I have read online about what trees are none toxic but there’s a lot of species lol is silver birch wood safe for birds ? I will be bleaching and removing the bark and the other steps before giving my love birds a play stand
You can make it however you like, however, you will need some kind of base to hold up the stand. The base also keeps the birdies droppings from getting on the floor. Good luck with your build :)
@@Positive_Energy727 :O You actually replied? Honestly didn’t expect that. Just in case you reply again, I have another question. Is Norwegian Spruce okay for parakeets?
