Really cool project. Beautiful work. I don't have all the tools to do it like that, but the principles you show here help me know the key things I need in a simple design that I can do.
Very interesting concept of the air hammer. It seems it would be quieter than one fabricated using tubing. I also am interested in a parts kit to fabricate it myself.
That does make sense. I've had a few people ask for a kit, I have a few upgrades I want to make first. It does have a bit of flex in it side to side, most of the force is vertical though, I might try making another one out of 3/16" or 1/4" to sturdy it up a bit. I want to machine a clamp to hold the hammer itself too. Still works great though, I'm just somewhat of a perfectionist. Do you have any input or changes you would make?
@@TheGarageVlog I would suggest a serrated clamping device like a piece of tubing that is split and serrated on the inside. Maybe pieces welded from one side to the other at the corners of your arms coming out from the back upright and maybe a gusset on each side of the back upright down to the base plate, as well a few plates on the top and bottom of the two side pieces or between them would make the frame smooth on the top and bottom.. Maybe a 3" long piece every 6 inches or so.
