Dane, what do you think of fresh dairy milk from the local dairy versus the almond milk i currently use? My dietician says it would be fine to try and has better enzymes and more protien.

Great video! How about for us older guys in their 50's? I've been doing 2g/kg protein per day and really not gaining much - will even more help?

Proteins arent steroids. It wont make you swole in a short period of time like steroids do. It just helps. I dont think taking more than you already do would change anything. But i am no professional tho.

Love the video and the channel you put great info out there for us. A question I've had for a while, why is protein intake centered on body weight and not amount of muscle a person has? If I am 240 pounds and 33% body fat, that leaves 160ish pounds of "not fat". A person who weights 200 pounds and has 20% body fat still has 160 pounds of "not fat". Why do I need more?
@nburdsal
@nburdsal 2 года назад
I have this exact question too. I always assumed it was a matter of convenience because it is "hard" to get a perfect body fat measurement whereas body weight is super easy. I also assumed that most of the studies on optimal protein intake use well-conditioned college athletes as test subjects. Not average joes rocking dad bods.
@GarageStrength
@GarageStrength 2 года назад
It's generally more easier because more people have access to a scale versus a body mass percentage tester

I well exceed the recommended protein intake in this video, thanks to protein bars. I eat like 2-3 a day because they are easy to eat on the go plus I drink one protein shake a day.

As well as the protein I eat with actual meals like my dinner and other protein sources from lunch.

@@puntmaster9896 yeah didn’t work out that well I gained a little weight and I’m still on the same diet. It’s gonna change soon tho. I take ADHD meds and it holds me back from eating a lot

GREAT GREAT VIDEO, COACH! So much work put into it, we 110% appreciate! My question is always this: the amount of protein suggested is for intake or how much your body needs? Because intake is one thing, how much of that is actually absorbed, how much is bio available / biological value, the type of protein, these are all different matters. They also count right? So if I'm thinking about eating a raw egg (50g), 6g will be protein, of that protein, some is absorbed some are not, what counts as daily intake/need?

You are crafting nonsense questions based on poor scientific information provided by a sponsored RU-vid video.. Do yourself a favor and study human physiology yourself and stop getting marketed to

12:35 case in point why you don't want to listen to sponsored videos on RU-vid... There are no studies anywhere showing that more protein leads to more muscle. Minute differences in recommended protein dosage is billions of dollars to the protein industry.. this has everything to do with manipulation of science and profits, and nothing about what stands to reason.
