That's awesome! Good luck on the build. This is also the same basic technique that you can use to build kitchen cabinets or for that matter any type of cabinet or many types of furniture. Have fun!

Thanks for making these videos, I plan on making cabinets for my garage as part of my workshop setup and this will help a ton. I especially like that you took the time to draw measurements on a whiteboard to crystalize the measurements needed for the drawers to fit in the openings, that was a nice touch.

I've watched both parts and I don't think anyone else has as simple a design as yours. Your design was simple and easy to follow and understand. When you attached the support for the floor on the upright walls I thought to myself why didn't I think of that? And I've been tossing & turning cabinet designs in my mind that was as simple and elegant as yours. You beat me to it. Your explanations were extremely clear and the close ups were very professionally done. No wobbly hand held shaky videos here. Hey thanks for putting this up I really like the way you presented this entire video.

Thanks for your response. I have had my three car garage for 35 years. Never put a car in it. It us my shop. My man space. It's really nice, but I wish I would have bought a CNC machine a long time ago. Just retired at 71 and love wood working, remodeling and electrical work. Nice talking with you.
@PawPawsWorkShop
@PawPawsWorkShop 5 лет назад
A three car garage gives you a lot of space. Who needs cars in a garage. Just call it a shop and it no longer a garage. Cars stay outside where they belong. lol. You need your space. A CNC does not need to take up a lot of space. Just decide what type of projects you want to do and get one that meets that need

Great video. For our home I substituted 3/4” Red Oak with solid wood cabinet and drawer bottoms and aromatic Cedar veneer along the walls..(keeps mice out which is a big deal living out in the country). It was interesting to see non-dove jointed drawers. But nice fit. Your measures are spot on. It’s a pleasure to watch a true craftsman, thank you!

It has literally taken a lifetime of many trial and errors to learn what works and what does not. Thank you very much. My Dad got me started in woodworking when I was very very small child. The table saw that you see in my videos is the one that I grew up with. That machine is over 45 years old. I used it when I was building custom cabinets for local contractors decades ago. When my Dad pasted away, that was one of the very important tools that I wanted to add to my shop.

I'm getting ready to build my bathroom vanities and yours is the best video I've found on the process. Everything is very clear. However, I have 2 questions: 1) Do you have a final materials list for what you built, and 2) how much time did it take you to build?

I do not have material list or plans. My plans typically consist of an idea or a picture. The time it takes to build is funny. When I was young I could build a whole kitchen in a weekend. Now, it takes much longer and even longer with all the camera setups. I do it for fun and to teach.

Thank you, and thank you for subscribing. The bit is a Roman Ogee. I will put a link in the description to purchase the bits.

Thank you for these videos ! I will be making my first cabinet this week ! just have one question about your jig you built out of plywood to cover your table saw ! what is the reason for it ? does it keep the saw dust from coming back in your face or another reason ?

The table saw jig is for cross cutting material. I’ve also added the acrylic cover to catch the saw dust with the central vacuum. It’s also for safety in that it much safer to cut the material with this type of jig and the acrylic cover capturing the sawdust also helps to keep the fingers away from the blade. Thanks for watching

If you had an odd situation where the drawers were almost 48” wide Would you use half inch for the bottom ? Or would 1/4 still be fine ?

Use half inch material. The quarter inch material will have too much flex.
