I got my SDR to calibrate with my upconverter with HDSDR. I had to temporarily set up it with 125M added to the frequency. I set HDSDR as directly setup with the antenna. For WWV 10MHz, I tuned into 135MHz. I was then able to calibrate it by typing in the correct frequency. Once I switched HDSDR back to properly using the upconverter, I can finally use HDSDR like a treat. :)
That seems to work perfectly for you. Not sure why the instructions when in "calibrate" mode tell you to do this in ECSS mode, which automatically activates AFC and other options. I found I had to adjust the "frequency ppm" frequency shift button under the "Ext io" setting to get things lined-up. Will try your method and see how that goes.
Personally, I could use more instruction in using the HDSDR application. I find its layout unfriendly to noobs, which is why I've been sticking with SDRuno (which a lot of people think is harder than HDSDR!). It's also hard to see the signal in the smaller window. Anything you can offer along those lines would be greatly appreciated, Gilles. Thank you!
I would also like Father instruction specifically geared towards using hdsdr with the hamitup upconverter the settings that you use in hdsdr specifically I have yet to be able to receive any signals and have some high pitch noise in the receive
Back when I had a portable shortwave radio and a single extending antenna I could pickup WWV effortlessly indoors. Now even with a larger double antenna I can't even get a hint of it on the SDR.
This does no good for me. I have a Soft Rock Lite II Panadapter / SDR Receiver on my Yaesu FT-301D. It is not electronic. It is Analog. I am using it as a Panadapter. It has no USB or Ethernet connectivity. The Calibrate Frequency function does not work because I don't have direct radio connection. I need a way to MANUALLY make adjustments. It will not work without ExtIO and if it does not see a Hack RF or another unit it will not allow you to calibrate.
Hey, I have the rtl820t + ham . I should be able to do 100khz to 30mhz ( it has two antenna inputs . HF AND VHF/ uhf ) well I have the vhf/‘uhf side working but can not get it on say 3533 kHz or even regular Am broadcast stations . The software gives me an error that I can not tune if try anything below 10 mhz . Any idea ?
hey i have a dongle that has two antennas and ive found only one antenna side works for both sets of frequency.. the uhf antenna .. so try tuning with ur antenna in that connector........ peace
I have not been able to get my RTL-SDR R820T2 RTL2832U Version 3 dongle to work as a panadapter with either my Kenwood TS-570DG or my Yaesu FT-920.. The dongle I bought from Amazon is smile.amazon.com/RTL-SDR-Blog-RTL2832U-Software-Defined/dp/B0129EBDS2/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1513624240&sr=1-4&keywords=sdr The dongle works fine otherwise as a ham/shortwave/police monitor. I have tapped the proper location for the 1st IF in both radios and inputted the proper 1st IF frequencies in HDSDR. I can control radios with OmniRig , but my panadapter display shows nothing but a few random lines. Just does not work! Maybe it is the particular dongle I am using. Also, my computer is plenty fast ...I7 32gb ram, etc..... Any ideas?
