How To Can Beef Stew ( Raw Pack Method)

Today I'm cleaning out the freezer and decided to can up some delicious beef stew. This technique is very fast and easy because you do not have to cook it before hand. To thicken this up to eat, when it has come to a boil, mix a couple tablespoons of corn starch with water and add it to your stew. I hope you give this a try and thanks for watching!!

Scrappy, I'd also enjoy a video on beef jerky. When I can beef or pork I do about the same process as you except I don't brown my meat. I add sliced onions. No salt, due to health issues. Put in the oven I think it's 300. Bake it approximately 3 hours. DO NOT open the oven door. Leave the jars in the oven until room temperature. I leave them in overnight to cool. They keep as long as the pressure cooked meat. My sister did potatoes this way. They were good for camping and quick meals.

Some people don’t mind it but it’s not for me. I prefer to par cook my meats first.

Can you leave the potatoes skin on?

The fda doesn’t recommend it because if not canned properly botulism could grow and most root vegetables have trace amounts of botulism on them already. Always do what you think is best for your family but I do can them with the peels sometimes.
