If you are interested in buying pure, well identified San Pedro seeds and seedlings, as well as San Pedro relatives, please email me at: sanpedromastery@protonmail.com
If you have a question, I will only reply to questions about cultivation. Please no questions about the psychedelic properties of these cacti.

Hi Jerry. Love your videos. But, you mentioned something that isn’t necessarily accurate anymore (possibly in Barcelona, but no longer in most of the US): Leaving tap water to sit overnight doesn’t eliminate “chlorine” if you live in an area that has switched to a slightly different form of the chemical. In the past decades most municipalities in the US (not sure about Europe or elsewhere) have switched from treating the water supply with chlorine to monochloramine (chloramine) which DOES NOT dissipate like chlorine. I learned this the hard way a few years ago setting up an aquarium. I did as I had done many years ago when I worked in an aquarium store. I had successfully set up countless aquariums and couldn’t understand why the new one wouldn’t cycle properly. Unfortunately, I put several innocent fish in toxic water before someone informed me of the chlorine/chloramine issue. I wanted to share this in case it helps anyone save seedlings or fish from a very common misunderstanding.

You don't want dust like material in your potting mix. It compacts and suffocates small roots hindering growth & promoting root rot. I always wash perlite as it contains so much dust. Also you should use higher fraction peat and sieve it removing dust. Doing so will increase oxygen at the root zone dramatically preventing any root rot and maximizing growth rate. It is some extra work but totally worth it. For my cacti I currently use 50% sieved peat + 25% washed perlite + 25% crushed granite, works great.

is peat alternatives ok? peat is environmentally damaging so its being banned in the uk. thanks for that advice.

@@nsjhdhdhdbhsudgvdydb7751 Coco is a good alternative, but it gets very expensive if you own a lot of plants. As for peat being environmentally damaging... I'm pretty sure there's a million other things astronomically worse to environment than peat.

Hi Jerry, thanks for all your hard work. I have a little bit of a problem with seedlings, they are growing too slow. They only get about about 6 hours of direct sun light, unfortunately where I live I can't give them more. I bought these Peruvianus on Ebay arond january or february of last year, I think the oldest looking one (that is about 5 inches, maybe a little larger) grew somewhere about half an inch to an inch, all the rest of the seedlings remained very much stunted. It looks like finally they are waking uo from winter slumber, but they are going SOOO slow. I have them in pots large enough for three or four of them with store bought composted soil and perlite, about 50/50 mix. What could it be, not enough light? Thanks.

I did not like the amount of "composted forest products" in almost all of the potting soil I found. Some also had too much fertilizer. I bought 100% sphagnum peat moss to mix with the perlite and worm castings. I also have some "desert sand". Will the 100% peat moss be fine? I plan on doing the 50/25/25 like your video. Also, is this same mix good for larger 10-12 inch rooted San Pedro? Thanks so much for the videos!

Hi, thank you for this video. Can I use your mix potting soil (50%) perlite (25%), earth worm castings (25%) for san pedro cutting (25-30 cm long)? Can I use instead of potting soil, kera substrate for seedlings (without fertilizer, ph 5.0-6.5) and add the perlite and worm castings to the mix? What size of pot would you reccommand for this cutting size (25-30cm long cutting)? I have a square pot which is 11cm wide and 20 cm tall. Do you reccommand adding clay pebbles to the bottom of the pot when planting? When planting a cutting would you reccommand a bit wet soil (naturally wet) or bone dry soil and water when the cutting has rooted? Thank you very much.

My seedlings are doing well; however they are noticeably leaning. Is this a indication of too much or little sun or water?

Not all tap water uses chloride. My municipality uses chloramine which does not evaporate from water.

use water to wash the substrate away. that makes it easier to pull them apart.

I am new to growing san pedro. Last year my san pedro started growing something like root nodules/ spikes just above base of soil. Seemed like it was trying to get more water? Growing indoor under 1000w (1.5m from light, off to the side. 16hour days) I water more often now and that seemed to halt that issue. It has more than enough root space. Should I just leave it or what do you recommend. The SP is growing very fast and more than quadrupled, looks thick and healthy otherwise.

Chlorine doesn't evaporate before water. You are concentrating it (the chlorine) by evaporating the water out.
