Most of the best fishing at Strawberry Reservoir is done from a boat. ... Most of us can't afford a boat. But if you're fishing from a canoe, you can still get a taste of how awesome boat fishing is at Strawberry Reservoir. JUST MAKE SURE YOU GO BEFORE THE WIND PICKS UP! Fish in the morning before noon and stay relatively close to shore or a cove so you can get out of the wind fast. Happy Fishing!

I like watching your videos. I have watched quite a few, and I love how you are teaching your young kids to fish and create great memories. I notice that a lot of your videos are titled, "How to . . . . ". Which is fine, but you don't really give tips that are beyond the basics. For example on this video you told us you were using a white jig with a worm and you son had powerbait and a worm. I am wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing more specifics in your videos. show us your rig. Show us your technique. How deep are you? Where are you? what are some of your most successful spots? Do you ever switch up your approach based on various factors? Otherwise, this is just footage from your fishing trip. If you don't want to share the specific information I have asked for, I respect that, just don't post your video as a "How to". Many thanks.

Thanks for the feedback! To be honest, at Strawberry, it really is that simple: use a white jig tipped with a worm. If you do that, you have a good chance of catching fish. To be more specific, I use 1/4 oz weighted jig hooks. I've had success on so many different kinds of white tube jigs at Strawberry, I don't even know which ones I buy most often. But something like the Gitzit Super Tube will work great! My son was using green garlic scented PowerBait about 3 feet below a bobber with one split shot a 3 or 4 inches from the hook. Same setup with the worm. I usually start by fishing about 50 feet down (I'm only guessing, because I don't use a depth finder). If I don't get bites, I try deeper and shallower until I find the fish. Sorry if some of the Strawberry videos are vague. I've done quite a few Strawberry videos and sometimes lose track of what I've already covered. The main point of this video was to show that you can still catch a ton of fish from a canoe if you don't have money for a boat.
