I stopped the video @2:29 as I need to learn the loop knot Richard, so I'll be refreshing your knots in my mind once again! I just wanted to tell you also, I caught on my very first artificial white grub cast 1 time, a black crappie!!!!!! Thick and hand size, and it'll be the first crappie of the year to taste. I really need to carry into the house my spool of line and holder I made with a short rod and practice, practice, PRACTICE! :) You're so calm, and I value you're techniques, All of them Richard! Yea it would be very hard to dislike this man or his videos! Good dude, smart as a whip when it comes to fishing, shares a ton of info. I don't get what there is to dislike. Probably a Karen that is sad that a fish got a hook in their jaw.

Richard. I just want you to know that I studied all your crappie videos for weeks back in the spring. And thanks to you ive caught thr most and the biggest crappie I've ever caught this year. And my wife even suggested that I start fishing in the Kentucky Crappie Trail tournaments on lake Cumberland this year. And I actually have the confidence to do so. So thank you Richard. I had to take my outboard in for a bit of servicing. Dealer said he was opening up a tackle section for the store. Naturally we started talking fishing and types of baits and he mentioned lures for crappies! The way he said it I knew immediately he was a RGTFM fan! Sure enough, he is. Here in Daphne/ Fairhope, AL the word is out; you gotta watch RGTFM cause it's gooooood fer ya! May God bless.

Hey Richard, i just wanted to say your tips are so helpful. Ive caught alot of fish using your techniques. I met you one day when me and my buddies went to the tva dam at the beach area. Such a wonderful person that loves the sport of fishing. Honestly I would love to go out on the boat with you and wear them out. Over there where that water is being turned lose where the strong current meets the slow is a fine place to fish ! If there's a cat walk the u can fish off of close to those flood gates is good ! That's where we fish at Bellville dam Ohio River here in West Virginia !

I remember seeing small walleye looking fish 7-10 inches I guesstemate caught by people fishing for bluegill with works " zebra minnow" and " log perch" are some of the names folk threw about.

We have Saugeye biting up here on the great Miami River seems like they bite better during an overcast day and cooler water temperature but they are definitely biting sauger walleye hybrid tell Elmo he needs to do something about them back hairs they're starting the show right there above his belt! The best tasting fish always come in just under the legal size limit. Where I live, most lakes have an 18 inch minimum for walleye. You can go out and have a 50 fish day, and maybe 3 of them will be over 18. You'll get a bunch over 17, but finding those 18's can be tough.

As a kid I'd fish up at Pickwick for sauger with my dad during the coldest days of the year. I swear it was the coldest place in the world before the sun made it's way over the spillway. My butt stuck to the aluminum seat once.

What should you look for to locate them? Depth? May try catching some next time I fish below Ky Lake dam. The water is usually quite a bit more turbulent than that, there are a few areas where the water is a little more calm.
