I bought the DWS779 and an 80 tooth blade and the plan was to change out the 32 tooth. There are a lot of videos on changing the blade BUT yours was the only one that mentioned loosening the screen towards the back of the silver plate.....without that screw being loosened, I was not able to get the blade guard out of the way to remove the bolt for the blade -- so KUDOS to you.

This was a fantastic tutorial. I just bought my Dewalt miter saw and am making holders for my drills with 3 inch pvc pipe. I had to change out the blade that came with it to a 100 count Diablo blade for the pvc. It would have taken me 3 times as long and much frustration without your video. Thanks a bunch! I generally like to stick with a higher count blade anyway for the type of wood working I do such as making tool holders.

This is the first video from you that I watched. Very straight forward, no extraneous blabbing on and on, just the facts. I liked it so much you earned a like and a sub. Have a blessed day! added.... Mine was slightly different, it had a hex bolt for the blade securing lock instead of the star 40. However, the tool that was on the back of the fence had both the hex and the star 30, so it worked out. I guess a difference in manufacturing runs or something. I have had mine for about 4 years, I think.

I just bought the same saw. I was wondering why you were able to drop the blade and insert it with such ease. Then I noticed you removed the spring part of the dust duct inlet that hangs down. That made all the difference removing and inserting the blade.
@HowToHomeDIY
@HowToHomeDIY 3 года назад
That actually is a fairly common part to get broken, which is what happened to me. So it probably did make it easier to change out the blade. I make new ones with my 3D printer. Glad you were able to get it changed out!

It's weird that the blade is like wedged into my new 779. Now I can't get the new blade to slide in because everything lines up where the bolt is kind of in the way. Every RU-vid tutorial always looks so much easier than it actually is lol

1:10 Tool? what tool? i dont remember any tool! 😁 Thanks! Never changed the blade on my DW 716XPS , Couldn't figure out why it was so hard. Don't forget to look behind the fence where i found the tool conveniently mounted! (so thats what thats for!) If not you can buy a replacement for about $11 or use a Torx 30 bit , Dont really need the T 40 because u can use a channel locks/ pliers / socket wrench on the arbor bolt once you get the shroud pushed back. But the 30 bolts are round . What a silly design!
