Thank you so much.Just finished a pad and rotor change and watching this video allowed me to be fully prepared for what was needed to do the job both effectively and proficiently.

Good job! After seeing this video I’m more confident about tackling the job. How long did it take you to complete all four rotors and brakes?

Great job Adam with the multiple camera angles, breaking down of the steps (with some tricks) and providing torque values. I just bought my 2013 Accord and it gives me confidence that I could avoid the dealer costs and do it myself. Thanks.

Some of the best videos I've seen for how-to. No nonsense and includes the torque values. BUT! for this specific video and your rear brake video you didn't check the guide pins for fee movement and regrease. Perhaps you live in a warm climate and don't have to worry about winter and salt on roads. Here in the north I've frequently found guide pins stuck from corrosion.

Nice Video! I was wondering that the torque of pin bolts of front brakes are usually larger than the rear ones? Thanks

Awesome video! I really appreciate the torque values and socket and/or tool sizes. Do you have a video with rear pads and rotors? Thanks in advance!

Just did this yesterday on my 18 accord! Those rotor screws are a bitch!!! I went to harbor freight and bought the same impact driver you had. Worked well on 3 rotors. Then it broke on the last one. I had to improvise. Also the rear emergency brake is a pain screw back.

How did you you fit that Torque wrench back there. I had to tighten mine with a regular wrench
@DonnieBoiTV
@DonnieBoiTV 4 года назад
only question i have is how do you know when youve tightened the bolts enough? idk alot about cars and didnt know there was a specific torque you had to tighten too.
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 4 года назад
You can pick up a relatively inexpensive torque wrench on amazon or harbor freight in a pinch.

Adam Williams what size F Clamp did you use for the front and back?
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 4 года назад
It was a 6 inch bar clamp from harbor freight.

I’ve watched all your Accord videos and is waiting for this brake video a long time😃 Did you only change the front or both front and rear? At approximately how many mileage?
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 5 лет назад
I did both the front and rear. The video was going to end up being way too long. Rear brakes video coming soon.

How did you torque the Phillp screw on the rotor?
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 3 года назад
Torque wrench and a 1/4” socket with a Phillips bit.
@Nodirm93

4:52 are you sure its 37 lb ? other video said its between 9-10 lb. Cuz when i changed my rotors that bolt wouldn't stop spinning.. 37 is too much.
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 4 года назад
Yes, 37 lb-ft is correct, straight from the Honda Service Manual. The rear bolts are significantly less because the caliper is much smaller.

What happens if you don’t put the bolt back on the rotor *
@ShopEightyFive
@ShopEightyFive 3 года назад
The lug nuts will hold it all together in a pinch but ideally you should replace it.
@juniorcorrea1656

@@ShopEightyFive the bolt strip off and I snapped it in half. The other half is stuck in the tread
@kd2154

I would add that you should relube the sliding caliper bolts.
