Replacing the windshield rubber hoses is really hard. Not only is it hard to push on the hoses but there's also the slightly bigger pieces of hose that go over the hose to hold them in place. You need fingers of steel. Don't be tempted to use a lubricant like washing up liquid as the pressure from the spare tyre will build up and up and force the hoses off at night. First thing you'll know about it is your lovely carpets all sodden and no washer on your way to work. You can replace the EPDM hoses with clear PVC hose if OEM isn't important. Cut the hoses longer so you can slide them out through the column without detaching them. Watch out too for a wiper stalk that's marked Wisch-Wasch. That's a rare one, all set up for intermittant wiping that was one of the M - Options.

@@ReverseGear I figured it out. I took a screw driver and reached in to pull the locking device for the steering wheel to the right and it pulled out. Thanks for the reply.
