I despise all of these silly bells and whistles. Just give me a metal key that will last the life of the vehicle without costly batteries. Too many needless parts in an automobile just means more repair bills. At a certain point in time, you may not even be able to get parts to fix your pile of electronic junk on wheels. Simplicity brings reliability and longevity. Are people really so weak and lazy they cannot even open the lid of their own car trunk without motorized assistance? What does this all say about the quality of people? Car engines are getting better, but are the people who drive the cars getting better?
I say the same thing along with push button start and people ridicule me for being an old fart that doesn't adapt to new ideas. Keys and locks have worked for centuries. I love how the only way to open the Tesla glove box is thru the computer screen and the door has an electric button to open, if it fails you can't get out of the car.
I agree with you, my friend! EVERYTHING nowadays are being made to get people more and more lazy. But use the excuse that it is done for convenience, less hassle and efficiency. Which is quite arguable. These companies, manufacturers know what they are doing. And it is down right wrong. Our power grids are old and not capable to hold all this added power that is being produced due to the fact that everything is made to be ran through a smart ai system that will not be able to function when the power grid goes down. And it will. Nothing that we use will be of any use...just hunks of "smart metal junk" wasted and EVERYONE will be f'ed and sh!t outta luck. That will be loads of fun! No seriously it won't be.
My key fob for my car Is completely destroyed from just years of abuse. Buttons don't work, have to use key to unlock car now. Can you buy a new key fob and sync it to your car or are you at the mercy of the dealer?
you have to go to a dealer for a brand new key. if the internals of the key fob are good, you can go order a shell of the same fob on ebay and put the guts in it.
