Best thing about north american cars is they tend to use less gas. Mostly because they burn oil instead.

I have to Honda Civics....both use a 17mm socket on the drain plug, not a 16mm. Not sure if yours used a 16 for some reason, but both mine are 17's.

16 is only for a 2003 lx trim

Your videos are fantastic and they will help me restore my 02 EX. It's been sitting for a year and a half as I couldn't physically drive it due to a set back with my surgically repaired left leg. Do you still need to warm it up before changing the oil? I have yet to start it since around March of 2019.

+Felix Candelaria Thanks for watching! It is a good idea to let the car run for a bit if it has been sitting that long, as it will benefit other systems in the vehicle too. You might want to think about taking the bad gas out too if your fuel tank is mostly full. Gas goes bad after that long if it is not used.

Does the 2003 honda civic lx 1.7 4 speed auto have an oil plug crush washer? Looking at your civic as well it seems the washer comes prebuilt in the bolt? If thats the case and im having a slight leak from the drain plug and i dont see crushable washer does that mean i need to replace the bolt itself? Since the washer is pre built into it? Or can i still get a crushable washer and see if it stops the leak? Very small leak but a leak undoubtedly

You should use 10w-30 high mileage oil now when vehicle new or really low miles 5w-20 cool but when you been driving for a while n high mileage better to get thicker oil

Yes you can use full synthetic...dont use high mileage oil because is very thick and it takes longer to lubricate the engine parts at the end it will only damage the engine further...

I use full synthetic 5 w- 20 only. Do not listen to people say. You should use high mileage 10w-30 . they gave you wrong information! Follow your oil cap say. 5w-20 then use 5w-20.

Harbor freight, Walmart or the auto parts store. I recommend getting some oil filter pliers instead, you can also get that at harbor freight, Walmart or the parts store.
