is the original one not just the slightly more expensive "carbon filter" so its supposed to be grey, as i use the carbon ones as they are better for filtering out the smells and stuff. so i dont think its maybe as dirty looking as your suggesting. nice video btw, was just checking the directions for airflow, but for the model previous to this.

Two things I would add. The old filter although very dirty was originally a grey colour and not the same as your new white one. The grey ones have additional CARBON filtering and are always preferable because they filter out a lot more of the crap in the air (and odours) from the road traffic outside. ALWAYS worth the extra few euro. Secondly that filthy old filter is NOT RECYCLABLE. It's too dirty for that.

Is it easy to remove the initial footwell panel to get access to the area where the footwell is?

It's not difficult. Make sure you have ample lighting to see what you are doing as the securing catches can be a bit of a challenge

You have taken a charcoal filter out and replaced it with the wrong fiilter

It was like for like. Pollen filters are generally not included as part of a garage/workshop service unless specified or requested. Any filter thats been in a car for several years is likely to look charcoal
