You can check the ink level from Canon inkjet/Selpy app , you can also see amber warning light on the panel heightening on the cartridge symbol

The button I was referring 2nd on the right which is Paper button it selects the page size and media type. Changing from A4 paper to Photo paper or Vice versa.
