A guide on how to cheese Failed Champion in Hollow Knight, Minimal effort required
Note: Also works on Lost Kin
CHARMS:
Glowing Womb, Grimmchild, Sprintmaster, Grubsong, Weaversong, Sprintmaster, Defender's Crest

I personally find mosquitoes more annoying but at least they stay near you. Flies just dissappear then re-appear at random

@@bouncingdonut9969 this isn't the first boss by the way, in case you were wondering. this is a late-game version of the boss. upgraded to a much higher difficulty. it's one of the hardest in the game.

@@bouncingdonut9969 sorry if i didn't get this across in my first comment, but this isn't the first boss of the game. the first boss of the game is "false knight." "failed champion" is an extremely difficult rematch of that fight which shows up much later in the game. he's harder than the final boss, actually. and he does the same amount of damage as the final boss, too.

January 10th 2023 (new year) Works, although I had an issue with the weavers not spawning, which was fixed by staying slightly lower, so your cdash crystals peek out from the top of the screen.

@@1mSeal They can't touch you with defenders crest, as soon as they touch the orange cloud they die. so you're pretty much safe when wearing it during lost kin fight and defender's crest actually makes that fight a lot easier (as you only have to focus on lost kin's movement)

My game (or maybe my pc?) sometimes doesn't respond and doesn't allow me to use crystal dash at the point personally ME want it to during the boss fight.. very annoying! But I've nearly killed the champion twice, thanks to you. Upd: THANKS, he's done!! :D

Apparently, it's still working but requires much more time. Weavers can't get souls from hitting the armor anymore. Still, you can dream nail it after staggered. If Dreamweilder charm is equipped, you can get up to 3 slashes (3 hit x 66 souls per hit= 198 souls per stagger), which is plenty until the next stagger edit: my bad. it still works just fine. I forgot you have to damage the maggot to trigger his rage

Ok so here’s what happened, the first try, the spiders stop spawning once a stay in the same place for too long, idk why, and the rocks kill me eventually. The second try however everything is great, and I successfully defeated the boss.

@Dillon Hiles Nah, it still works, but you need to keep wall jumping in the upper right corner of the arena instead of holding s, so you can shadow dash when Traitor Lord uses the beams. I beated him like that minutes ago ;)
