Holy horseradish, Batman, is this heaven? I feel like it’s the 80s and I’m watching the best new programming on PBS! Ms. Sue, you are made for this platform. Your creative production and execution are incredible. Congrats on your successful debut, dear ❤️
Having my breakfast with Sue again! I'm studying her PhD course in Vintage & Antiques. It takes buying and reselling knowledgeably to a whole new level. BTW, generally when I sit down to watch a video, I check to see if the video is going to go on for a while. I've been known to speed up the replay or just stop playing the video after a few minutes. Not so with Sue's videos! Tell me more, Sue! TELL ME More! You share good information that builds on what we already know. It's Sue University and I'm working on a PhD!
Sue, you are not only a lamp genius but a stand alone comic, 😂 lol. So very informative. Love your channel and love to watch you and Jocelyn together. Tfs. 🤗🥰
Oh Sue! I NEVER want to walk away from your videos. I could watch you for hours. I learn so much!! You're a natural born teacher. Thank you. Have a great week.
LOVE your videos Sue! And really appreciate your explanations on any and every thing! Love Jocelyn's lamp with black shade. Seeing is believing and I believe you are a GENIUS! Keep those videos coming!
That elastic trick around those small old or new tulip type, bulby shades is genious !!! I have noticed people tend to put chips or even cracks in the glass edges when tightening the screws and do not realize that the screws need to be tightened alternating from one screw to the screw across from it a little bit at a time until all the screws around each shade are tightened in the same manner. Once again I learned a neat little trick from you Sue, elastic to provide stress absorption around rim, Genious !!! Thank You
Sue i Can not get enough of you I'm soooooooo happy you have your channel 💃❤ great tips I Love love changing lamp shades I'm having a shade dilemma I need & want some fun kinda funky lamp shades 💛 Tfs 💛💜💙❤💚💖
Good for you - people never seem to change their lamp shades. It's as if they have lost sight of the fact that a lamp is a decorative accessory. So pleased to see someone who is exploiting the full potential of their lamps - go you!
Enjoyed the doll skit.... very funny! So glad you started the videos. My husband sat with me and watched this video. He NEVER watches my channels (thrifting, crafting, sewing). He actually payed attention & watched the entire video and said “Well done. I learned something.” What a compliment! Thanks so much!
Sitting at the feet of the, "Lamp Shade Master", this was fun and fantastic! Thanks so much Sue, your wisdom and humor are greatly appreciated! Yes, I do believe Jocelyn needs to list those beautiful lamps! This was such a timely video. I have purchased a number of lamps lately from GW, and once my new house it built, I will be seriously looking for proper shades. Plus, I will be getting a bunch of inherited lamps from storage, and will be rethinking the shades they have on them. This was wonderful and will be such a useful reference guide. Thanks again Sue. Just so you know...I actually managed to Not wet my pants...but it was a close one...happy sigh! : - ) Have a great day!
Sue, seeing Jocelyn’s pair of Arabian figure lamps was startling. If there is one memory from my childhood throughout the ‘50’s that still enchants me, it is being mesmerized by a pair of lamps on a long buffet. They were identical Black male figures sitting cross-legged on pillow-shaped bases, adored with gold earrings and wearing red turbans and red Turkish flowing pants. I was raised in New Orleans, and in the mid-60’s, damage and high flooding from Hurricane Betsy destroyed everything. Those beautiful lamps remain emblazoned in my memory. Love your channel. Marlene
Sue, you are a treasure. So much useful information packed into your lamp shade tutorial. From now on, I'm going to use the rubber band trick on my glass ceiling fan shades. You are one witty woman. Loved the comment about the elderly men. I took care of my husband's grandfather, for a few years. He had ahlzheimers and was so mischievious and so sweet too. My husband's grandmother died, after a botched hip replacement. (The doctors had to go in and replace it again). Grandpa kept the original metal hip part in his top drawer. Occasionally, he would hide it in his bathrobe pocket and bang it on the kitchen table. Then he would say, "Anyone want a hip?" I would say, "No grandpa. Put it away." I wish I would have saved that hip. It would have made a great heirloom.
This video was very informative and I learned a lot seeing the differences in style of shade compared to style of lamp. However, the opening to this video- was priceless! I laughed right out-loud- it was great. Chain a man to the bed... hilarious!! Lamp geniuses is accurate. I am starting to get a clue to the “crazy” aspect of the crazy lamp lady and her entourage!! Love you content Sue!
Thank you, Sue, you are just awesome, I love the steampunk look, and yes Jocelin's lamps are beautiful she should certainly list those, I love that you started your channel, Sue you are an awesome teacher!
Good Show Sue! I learn so much from watching you & Joycelyn & thank you so much for the good videos on how to rewire, age & value of lamps, where & who made them & now how to properly pick the right shade. Thanks Sue! You Rock Lady!!!
@@suemeonyoutube I only get those when I get lucky and they drop them...lol. It's that fine line of not loose/too tight. The rubber band trick is spot on! Thanks for your info! 😊
Great suggestion about using the rubber bands to hold the shades in place and protect them. I’m definitely going to do that with my glass shades and ceiling fans. 😊
Fabulous and informative video Sue! Thank you so much for breaking this down....and for the word of the day! I’ve been struggling with finding the right shades for my 2 MCM ceramic boudoir lamps and you’ve helped me tremendously on my quest.
Hi Sue, I had a Tammy doll when I was a kid! So cool to see her again. I have learned so much about lamps from you and now I actually look at the lamps at the thrift shops instead of walking by them. Red Sox fan here too!!! God bless you and Thanks
Great video Sue! And thank you for moving things forward and backward so we could see the lamp body details and the whole lamp including the shade! Love those blank and red lady lamps!
Thanks so much for the great info and I just got a pair of new lamps that take Edison bulbs and I didn't know about the LED ones so that was an extra bonus for me!
Thank you for the lesson on lamps and shades. When you put the wrong shade on the lamps, I was like that’s not right. But, I’m no pro on this. I really am glad that you showed this.
Odalisque new word in my vocabulary. thanks Sue. I used to work for westinghouse electric selling ceiling fans and I always told people that little trick with the rubber band. It works great and cost little to nothing.
yay, another Sue video! I got all day and night to watch my favorite you tubers! you tell you tube you need more time! Steampunk lamps rock! I love all the lamps!
Oh my gosh! Using a rubber band makes so much sense! I had a fluted lamp for years and years. Loved it! Broke it! Wish I had known. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Hi Sue. Love the art deco lamp. I was born and brought up in Napier, New Zealand. The art deco city of the world. We had a devastating earthquake in 1931 and the city was rebuilt in art deco style x
I learned so much from this video! I don't think about the logistics of what make a good lampshade... I just go with what "feels" right. You explained how to choose the right shade perfectly!
Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge! After watching your video I figured out I had a table lamp shade on my floor lamp. 😜 I always thought it looked "off". The lamp was a FB marketplace find and the shade came with the lamp. So, I went out today and using my new knowledge, I found the perfect shade for my floor lamp! Thank you!!!!
Thank you professor lamp decorator Sue wow it is amazing how much information you have my 13 year old granddaughter wants to be an interior decorator and your videos are perfect for her and me oceans of love and respect from Florida
Sue you are so talented...you are so knowledgeable about lamps and all. Great information. I love how you re-did the floor lamp. Time to go around the house and check out my lampshades. The puppet show was too funny! Thanks. God Bless!
Just bought a small traditional marble lamp at a thrift store. Cleaned it up and now ready for a shade. Perfect timing I was wondering how big and what style of a shade I should get. Thanks Sue! I will look for a traditional shade 8 inches high. Your grateful viewer Lois
Obelisk. I had to hear you say it. Thank you for telling me which lamp I should not say I like. Watching Jocelyn and you, I learned l liked lamps, In fact love them. I learned so much, Sue you have a gift. I watched your newest episode twice. I enjoy your wit, your smarts and memory. Subscribe forever.
