90mm is flexible lens you can do ever you want mcro portrait video even sport on a1 fster than superman

One of the most versatile Lenses are a prime short tele Macro Lens, it is good for many kind of Photography, macro, portrait, landscape and what ever you can think of. A prime short tele macro Lens will always be my first choice of Lens. I have owned several prime Macro Lenses, I still have an analog Tamron SP 90mm 2.5 Adaptall-2, A Hasselblad Zeiss Macro Planar 120mm 4.0, a Leica Macro Elmarit R 60mm 2.8 (which I used a lot until last year) and from last year the Voigtländer Macro APO-Lanthar 65mm 2.0. My other main Lenses are Sony 14mm 1.8 GM, Sony 24mm 1.4 GM, Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical, Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 and you talk about creamy bokeh, I have the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM which are smaller, lighter and have better bokeh, overall the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM are better than the Sigma ! I have a lot more Lenses that I use less often.

Hey Laura thank u so much for bringing up the point of comfort. I bought a 24-70mm f/2.8 coz it's such a versatile lens and I thought it would be helpful. But it was so heavy that I just couldn't shoot with it comfortably. I'm glad someone else shares similar discomforts with heavy lenses. I know I am not alone on this

Hi Greta! Exactly! That range is so good for versatility but sometimes not everything is about that. Heavy lenses can be annoying when shooting but for me particularly, I suffer it in my back. I always end up with such a heavy backpack. 😅 You’re definitely not alone. 😄❤️

I have a 24-200 in my mirrorless kit which is great for versatility but its quite slow, so picked up a 40/2 when it came out. Ultracompact, light and cheap. Some beautiful shots from it too. I miss my 28-70/2.8 from DSLR days though. I'm eyeing up the 105/2.8 macro or 14-30/4. This vid is very good advice. I need to go back to the niche vid (I am sure I have seen it already). Congrats on 10k subs too. Very well deserved.

Hi Rob! It’s hard to find the perfect lens for everything right? That versatility is so good! But if it’s slow, it may limit you sometimes. I shoot just with my DSLR but thinking about getting a mirrorless for video. Now I have the Canon M-50 as mirrorless but I wanna go for something better maybe soon. 😇 And thank you so much for noticing the 10K subscribers! 😍 I’m well over the moon. Thanks for being here! ❤️

Awesome video, your videos are always full of great content. I currently have the 24mm-70mm lens and it seems to be serving all my purposes, it’s very versatile and you can take great quality pictures with it. I’m still trying to figure out what my niche is going to be as I enjoy taking all kinds of pictures. If I was going to try macro photography which lens would you suggest? Keep up the great work 😊

Laura, congratulations on 10K subscribers! Well deserved. My favorite lens is my Fuji 18-55. It's tiny and lightweight so I can carry it everywhere. I'm surprised you haven't mentioned renting lenses to help decide if a lens is suitable. I don't know if that's popular in the UK and Europe.

Hi Christopher! Thank you so much! 😍 That focal range is super versatile. And if it’s light weight even better. I’ve never tried Fuji before but lately I’m soooo tempted! I love the colours! I’ve been thinking a lot about the XT4. 😍 And absolutely. Renting is a great option! I totally forgot to mention it because this is something I never did myself and I was just thinking about advice when buying a lens. But yes! That’s a great way to try lenses before. Thanks for mentioning it! :)

Well said Christopher and Laura! I’ve used the 18-55 for several years and loved it. However I was thinking I “needed” a brighter lens so bought the 16-55 f/2.8 and immediately discovered it was too heavy and bulky for my needs so sold it. Rent before you buy is EXCELLENT advice. As for the XT-4, I’d wait a few weeks to look at the replacement for the X-H1 which is due quite soon.

Just upgraded from a crop sensor to nikon d800 and got 50mm 1.8.. I'm interested in portrait photography, because I enjoy the planing for a shoot and editing afterwards it's just a pleasure for me. We will see how it goes, but as far as I see online, nikon d800 and 50mm f1. 8 should be a solid combination.

For my Fujifilm X cameras my go to one lens that I must take everywhere I go is my 27mm f2.8 lens. It’s halfway between the 23mm lens and the 30mm lens, which I consider the normal focal length. I have probably taken more photos with this lens that the other 3 lenses I have combined.

Hi John! We all have a lens we use the most right? You taking more shots with that one than with the other 3 combined, says it all! 😊 I love Fuji btw. I never shot with Fuji but the colours and incredible and the cameras are so beautiful. Maybe one day… 😍

For street photography I love the 40mm pancake lens on my EOS R. For landscape I love my 16-35mm. I really really want a tilt-shift lens for architecture. I totally agree with you on the comfortability with lenses. I sold my ef70-200 f/2.8 because I just hated carrying it around, now I just rent one if I need it, and the RF 70-200 f2.8 is way out of my budget.

Yessss! The 40mm must be great for street photography! And that 16-35mm is such a wide lens for landscape. I have to get myself something like that as well. Glad you agree about big lenses! It’s such a great idea to rent the lens for specific work rather than carrying it around all the time if we don’t need it as much right? 😊

My favorite lens is the sigma 85MM 1.4, but the Sony 90MM macro 2.8 is one of My most versatile lenses.

Awww I was so close time ago to get that one. 😍 I was between the Sigma 105mm f1.4 or the 85mm f1.4. I ended up with the 105mm. No regrets but it is HEAVY. 😅 The 85mm is perfect!

Just use 24-105 f4 and cheap 50 1.8, or for some brand maybe can just buy tamron 28-75 2.8 and 50 1.8 or 85 1.8

Bad accents don’t exist. Accents are just accents. 😊 Sometimes easier and sometimes harder to understand. I never had trouble with absolutely nobody in London in 10 years understanding me. But, if you do, you have English subtitles. 😊
