I use a cheap Behringer UMC404HD and it works very good. It got lots of inputs/outputs, 48v for mic's, low latency and every thing i need. It works and sound great, a very nice and cheap starter audio interface and i have had no reason to buy another better one so far. Only thing i can complain about is that is hasnt got an on/off switch, strange, but i use a switch on the outlet so its not a big thing just strange. I have read many people have issues with Arturia build quality, many have had to return their Arturia stuff, sometimes several times until they got a working unit. But they seem to have good technically designed gear (the sound, functions etc.) but it seems they need to step up the build quality.

Didn't know that, thanks for the input! How the Motu performing drivers wise btw? I always had issues with Motu's drivers on my Pre8 (amazing preamp tho) and heard that the M2 & M4 continues Motu's bad drivers legacy 😅

@@olliepsy i heared that a few people have problems, but i had never issues with the drivers ( i have the M2 ) and one of my best friends has the M4 also without any issue. Preamp's are really amazing and the driver allow's insane fast latency (when your pc can handle it ) with down to 2,6ms roundtrip. But i have to admit, i like the interface control software from your interface more ;) Would also be one of my favorite choices anyway, they are pretty close in most points and both clear on the better side from the budget interface's.

Does the Minifuse 4 have a direct Mono button? I see the the button at the Minifuse 2 but I cannot find if the Minifuse 4 does have it.

Im curious about your opinion. I don't know what your comparisons are. But how would you compare the sound of this arturia interface, against a rme babyface interface (or something similar) for example? I notes that there are very major differences in terms of the sound quality in this price range against something like rme, audient or similar interfaces (500€+). I also saw a SSL 2 interface (200€) that looks promising, would love to test and compare this one too.

The tests where straight forward, as my main interface is an RME Fireface UC I've went with a full production day on both of them (sound design & mixing & synth recording) and unlike when I switched from my Focusrite 2i4 I couldn't hear any difference in sound quality in my enviroment and on my Adam A7X monitors. I figured I might have tired ears or something so I've used the Minifuse4 non stop for a month and then switched back to the RME, same thing no difference. I also used an SSL2 at a friends place, recorded some synths with it and that interface was really good (couldn't compare it side to side to the Minifuse or my RME tho). I personally think today there's no more "major" differences between entery level interfaces and pro grade interfaces when it comes to sound quality specially when used in home studios (untreated rooms & entery level / mid range monitors). The only thing I can note is that working with the RME is wayy smoother than the Minifuse thanks to it's solid drivers, with the minifuse I had some CPU spikes on some projects that never happened on the RME. PS : I'm not saying there's no differences between entery level interfaces & pro grade ones, I'm just saying for home studio use entery levels ones can now (FINALLY) do a really goood job and deliver GREAT quality that not that far away wasn't imaginable for the price.

@@olliepsy hey ollie, thanks for your perspective and opinion! I appreciate your text. Maybe I will test all interface I mentioned above soon in a A/B test. I get the point, that the differences in overall are not very major. And Im also very glad that the entry-level interfaces we have today get the job overall done like the pro interfaces. But i still believe that the technology (software, development, preamps, components) are different in the price classes and thus a difference in quality. Of course, how much noticeable difference there is, in terms of quality and performance, between a mid class interface and a high class interface is argumentative. The differences i experienced while A/B testing a few interfaces (in well treated rooms and not well treated rooms), where sound depth, pressure, separation of sound and stereofield. Of course these tests where highly subjective and not scientific.

RME is expensive, but when you perform on a big system you understand where you put the money. 🏆 👑🥇 How does this minifuse behave on stage? It looks very nice!

Unfortunatly I got 2 gigs cancled where I've wanted to test out the Minifuse4 so I can't tell and I didn't want to delay this video anymore 😅 Am brining it on stage next month tho for a festival so let's see how will it perform ;) One thing for sure is switching from my RME to the Minifuse in my studio was seemless, I mean I didn't hear any difference in sound on my Adam A7X (unlike moving from the Focusrite to the RME, where the difference was hearable)!

@@olliepsy That’s a pity, I hope you’ll be back on stage soon. Thanks for the reply and for caring so much for the newcomers! And man, I just checked the price! 🤯 only 220 bucks? For having 4 + 2 🎧 outputs is quite remarkable! My babyface only have 2 + 2 😭 I definitely want to try it.
