I have a lot of respect for people who can stick with their passion for such a long time. I'm the type of person who dabbles in something, but gets bored and moves on to the next thing.
Thanks for the vids! I've been doing my own euros for years now, and this is by far the best method that I've come across! Now, I re-watch this video every year before I get started on a mount. You do such a great job of presenting the information! I just finished up my 2019 Whitetail, and it looks amazing!
You inspired me to clean my first skull. I now have the skull of a cat that was a part of the lives of my entire neighborhood. Our name for him was Target, an orange cat with white patches on his side in the shape of a shooting target. Thanks to your guidance he has now been immortalized, his skull on the way to be painted by the community he was closest to. Thank you for what you do.
This vid was on my recommended things to watch and i have no intention of cleaning skulls ever. But your explanation and video kept me drawn. You’re a very good teacher
Just did my first two whitetail European mounts today going by exactly the way you described . Couldn’t be more happy with the way they turned out ! Beautiful white skulls without having to use bleach was awesome . Thank you !
Outstanding video! Thanks for the education! This was my first attempt at a European mount. I skinned, boiled and pressure washed mine just like you instructed. I'm more than happy with the results and I haven't even put it in the peroxide yet! Much appreciated.
Great Video! I just finished my first skull this past weekend and it came out great. I really appreciate you taking the time to make and share the video.
@@WHITEBONE Ryan what PSI setting would you recommend on the power washer? I think you said yours is 1500, is it all the way up? Also about how long should I expect the first boil to take in oxi clean before I take it out to power wash?
My husband watches your videos and he absolutely enjoys them. He did a mount for himself and now his friends are wanting him to theirs. Thank you for your videos. Very educational.
Just wanted to say thanks. This video taught me how to do European mounts. Been doing it for a few years now and I never change from this video. Thanks for sharing your skills. You taught me everything I know about this.
Really well done on the video. High production value and thorough explanation of the entire process. Just completed my first euro mount and I’m very happy with how it turned out thanks to your help.
This video is awesome! The best step by step how to euro mount on the Internet. Thank you for posting this as I’ve used it now and have two great looking skulls and a new set of skills because of your video
Loved your video. Great to watch a vid that's to the point. The fact that you don't need to hear tour own voice and repeat every thing a dozen times is awesome. Please keep them coming.
Hey Ryan! Awesome video. Learned a ton. I have been using the instructions from your video and have a couple questions 1. When you boil the whitetail head in oxi clean, do you need to wrap the antlers? Will they discolor or is that only the case during the h202 step? Approximately how long do you have to boil during this oxiclean stage? 2. Is it okay to soak the whitetail head in odorban after I have already done the peroxide boil? Thank you!!!! Jeremy .
I am rather late here, but the fact that he uses a 'detergent' (of sorts) that is named Greased Lightning, isn't helping matters. This series should be called ''Secret life of John Travolta''
Followed every step, and had a wonderful result. Went to Sally's Beauty Supply to pick up the 40 volume developer, the lady behind the counter knew exactly what i was doing and helped me out. Start to finish about 3 hrs all in to skin, boil, wash, reboil, and bleach. Mop and Glo looks great on the bone. Thank you for all the pointers, fantastic video series. I did get some bleaching of the horns above the masking of the base, assuming its due to the steam rising above the taped area. will either wrap the whole horn next time or use a squirt/spray bottle to rinse with water during the bleaching process.
The best method I’ve seen. I think my mount turned out whiter then using the bugs. The video on acetone soak helped me bring back to life a yellowed over-boiled buck from 2011. Thanks for your great videos.
I am very much a rookie at Euro mounts and have only done 4 at this point. Lots of great tips and sources for products!! Much appreciate your expertise!!
Im so thankful i found this. For the last 6 years ive had my deer skull collection in sealed bags so i am ready to get them displayed all by myself. My last batch was thrown away from my ex husband who said it was werid i liked to keep just the heads
I looked up how to do a euro on a deer in velvet because I had a client asking me to do one and had never done one before. So that led me to your page. I've gotta say after watching a bunch of your videos you have given me some great tips and tricks to help me make a better end result and make it easier. Thanks buddy and keep up the awesome job.
So glad I found this RU-vid channel. Thank you so much for doing this. I must have watched this video a thousand times this week. I have not been a deer hunter long. Grew up saltwater fishing here in south Louisiana. This was my second buck. My first I shoulder mounted 2 years ago. That is very expensive. I had to do it because it was my first. This season I wanted to do a skull mount because of price. Then I started doing research and found you. The tips and tricks you gave built my confidence up. So I gave it a go this week. I did slightly over boil and cause some minor etching to the skull. It was my first time doing a euro and all in all it came out great. Thank you agin for sharing.
Absolutely love your videos. Thank you for sharing. I like to do euro's myself, on a smaller scale. I have a couple questions for you. I have trouble getting my hands on 40 volume clear developer, but I have no problem no getting 20 volume clear developer. Will 20 volume work for boiling if I don't dilute it quite as much? Also, I can get 40 volume creme developer, so, could a guy dilute the creme developer in water for boiling? I'm sure in time I'll be asking more questions! Ha! Again, thank you so much for making and sharing such great videos. Much appreciated.
After watching this in future I will deflesh then bury for a month then boil. I've always been a fan of bury or for awhile then leave in the sun for awhile
You are a true master of your craft. I've done multiple skull mounts on my own deer and I thought I knew it all, but I just learned so much. You are also a natural teacher, maybe you should consider taking on an apprentice or two...
Cant thank you enough, got my first ever deer, a fallow buck close to home in the south west of Australia, thanks to this video the end product was perfect. 👍👍
WHITEBONE CREATIONS HUNTING k thanks. I had a white tail done a few years ago and asked if they could keep the bottom jaw and he told me they can’t but if it was a bear they could. Didn’t make any sense to me
absolutely...the lower jaw falls off while boiling..once the cleaning is all done and there dry you simply line up the jaw where it would be when the animal was alive and make a pencil mark at the very end of the lower jaw which is like a rounded tab which is basically rite under the eye socket..then a very small drill bit and drill thru the lower jae and rite into the main skull..then a small stainless steel sheet metal screw on each side and your done..to me none of these skull mounts look good without the lower jaw attached..it just looks a million times better with the lower jaw..
Ok can you give actual brand name of the developer? I went to a beauty supply store and she said 40% by volume is extremely volatile and definitely do not boil it and if I bought more than a gallon she'd med my id lol
We bought ours at shoppers drugmart, went to a hair salon and they wouldnt sell it for some reason. Bought the 20 volume and it worked really good even on a sheep head that sat for almost a year
Hey mate, thanks for this. I'm based in New Zealand and have used this on a red stag I shot. Really clear and useful and better than the last head I prepared which came up crap. You're a legend. Thanks.
Fox Vulpes your point of view is screaming fear... Empower your self by getting deep into nature, you will understand everything better, the balance of life, the universe, ...... 🔥🌍💧
my name is Bob. just want say that you're video is the best video that I have ever seen on europene mounts. you break it down. and are very thorough. great job keep it. continue your videos. very impressive
Thanks for the video. Very nicely done. I just started to do European mount. Got done with the boiling point and didn't really know what to do next until I saw your video. Thanks again.
Great variety of instructional videos, easy to follow , plain and effective. I am in Australia and euro skull mounts are becoming more popular here and youre videos certainly help promote them. Keep up the great work Ryan.
Excellent tutorial. I have always left the nasal parts in and luckily they are still white after several years. I also never removed the ear buds...thanks for showing me how to do it right!
Just wanted to say thank you for showing this. Jhst tried your methods for the first time on my whitetail and it came out great. Much obliged for the info you have put out.
Thanks you for all of your info your definitely my favorite RU-vidr I have learned everything about Europian mounts from u and now I started my own small business pretty much thanks to you for helping me to do that, also it is just such a fun hobby, but thanks for the tips and the entertainment can't wait for more vids!
Your videos and methods are the best bar none. I have done a few euros for myself and family and friends and it is certainly a learning process. I'm currently doing my buck from this year and just completed the first boil. I used a box of arm & hammer baking soda (before I saw your video) and all the meat and sinue fell right off. I was thinking about starting a beetle colony but after seeing (and doing) this method, I can't see bothering with the hassle. Thanks.
Thank you so much for this. I'm doing my first taxidermy project ever, I'm learning all I can before I get going--which I'm gathering and kind of guessed obviously needs doing quickly. My ultimate goal is not a precious end result, skeleton and maybe a skin. There are so many good things you've gone over that will be so helpful, I can already tell. I'm so glad I found your channel.
USED YOUR METHODS AND it WAS FANTASTIC Thank You!! I suggest a Hot/steam Pressure washer as it improved your system considerably . My first Bow kill (nine pointer) and my fist european mount Your video helped alot with a great weekend in Illinois!!!!
So much fun to figure out the whole process. I use the jerry schaefer where he says be a inchworm. Work it with an attitude of little by little and time goes by sliwer and your brain tells you at what point the bext thing is to do and its done. Whalla! Flush it down the toilet anx get your money first!❤😂🎉. Great job ryan. A++! "DR. FISH". LK. ST CLAIR MICHIGAN...GO BLUE!!!❤😂🎉
Dude. That was so co! I wanted to see him take out more of the brain haha. I just kinda stumbled upon this. I watched start to finish though. Your work is really beautiful.
Everything went pretty good for the first time trying to euro! Coyote dead head didn't bleach quite enough. Still has a little grey in it. And an antelope tooth went out with the bath water. Still looking for it. But I'm learning and they'll be on the wall shortly.
great help for my boys next hunt. they love the euro-mounts you do and want their next ones done like this . my youngest(12) has his white tail from this year on a skull hanger in his room. now he wants the hew skull hanger tree for the rest of his trophies. thanks for your help.
This is the best video I've watched on this. I did my first whitetail skull this week with some of the products you suggested it turned out great. Thanks for the great video and keep them coming.
