Have that exact model that came with the house, massive POS, not even sure if it's applying voltage at this point. Will replace it with a regular filter box when I get the system changed out, hopefully next year.

I use a 1 gallon garden sprayer with a fan tip for my dilute mixes of cleaner. Really helps penetrate deeper then just the bottle can. Plus it's easier on the wrists then squeezing the handle over and over XD.

Honey Well makes a 4 inc box filter .. it fi,ters the air a lot better then them

What do you do if a wire comes off? Are the cells replaceable? Mine snap like crazy! Drives me absolutely nuts!

Why would you clean the dirt/debris off of the filters directly into the ac unit.... I know you aren't nessesarily washing it directly into the coils or electrical; but still, you had plenty of better places around to do that.

You work in some big ass houses

I hate them. No easy way to clean them in the winter! And they don't last forever, maybe 10 years if that? Also, there's no way to gauge their air cleaning efficiency. Give me a 4" or 5" width filter any day over these! In fact, it is probably likely you can replace these electronic inserts with one or two of the box filters. A relative of mine has an electronic cleaner in their home from 1999, it has two of these units. For 10 years they didn't realize that there was a SECOND unit to pull out and clean.....they were just cleaning half of the filter for 10 years! I recall it zap, zap, zapping when new. Now you barely ever hear a zap at all even with yearly cleanings.

Your doing alright my good man. Geesh yes I remember when these things were ridiculously popular. Damage to them was an expensive pocket draining replacement part. I’m Glad they’ve gotten a lot less popular they tell aren’t that good and expensive to run! Had my return updated this spring and got a nice new huge filter rack with a very nice effective and less restrictive high flow filter on there now. AC is getting is getting its full CFM per ton rating now and running beautifully and saving me money and keeping things cleaner and way more comfortable this season. Plus no more flooding back of my compressor with poor air flow! 👍👍 I knew there was problem when I bought my older 1970’s home a year ago.a brand new system was here and never had a chance to be efficient with a way undersized return from a lousy contractors who did the job for the previous homeowners. The heat had plenty of stratospheric action going on and now you don’t even notice the heat has ran as its much much more even from floor to ceiling in that regard now too! Being a helper when I was younger taught me all of this and it aided in me getting the work I needed done with my much much better service contractor.
