I would also recommend putting dielectric grease on the terminal posts and the terminal rings to help prevent that corrosion and keep a good water tight connection. Been doing it on my Jeep for years and even after off roading and driving through water the terminals never corroded and looked brand new
Hi Kyle...I sell and install batteries at Batteries Plus Bulbs. I frequently use that tool and show people how to use it. We test batteries and battery charging. I often find that they are OK but one or more conections are dirty and lose. I won't sell a new battery when I find this and will clean up the terminals and tighten at no charge.
I tried doing this but, I'm still getting no power from my car, I even bought a brand new battery and still getting absolutely no power when I turn the key. Even when I try to jumpstart it, I get no power, and no dash lights or anything. As a fellow 99-04 Mustang SVT Cobra driver, Do you know what could be the problem??? (I have a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra)
Kyle - Thank you! Now I know why my car isn’t starting every time. So I’ll use this info. I surely appreciate your helpful video. I watched one where the guy said to slather on Vaseline mixed with a little baking soda (after the terminals are clean). I think it’s maybe a less expensive method than using a spray, unless you’re a mechanic, would use it regularly and not misplace the can as I would. 👀
