Very well done. I have seen hundreds of mower/snowblower videos and I enjoyed you didn’t have as much “jokes” and crazy sounds as other channels. You explained everything well and showed the steps clearly. Maybe a video of adjustment of valves? Diagnostic electric issues in a rider lawn mower?

Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ru-vid.comUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

I always like to give the engine a good wash prior to any disassembly as it helps to keep dirt out of places you don't want it.

For anyone needing those slim line wrenches needed for removing the solenoid on the bowl,check at tractor supply. They usually keep some in stock.

YOU GOT THIS! Just as long as you remember exactly how you took everything apart and it goes back together the same way you will be fine! A good thing to do is use your phone and take pictures or videos to help remind you of how it goes back together.
@boots7859
@boots7859 Год назад
I agree, its amazing how many people don't use their phone cameras for a lot of things like this as memory aids. And remember, taking it into the shop for most people is going to be $75-100/hour, so even if you screw up on some things, you can still end up ahead if you have to replace something outright. I have to do this on an x530, and big thing is cleaning before starting this project, and making sure not to mess around with screws and fittings outside of those necessary to just remove it and get it apart as it was running perfectly beforehand.

I have a 2016 John Deere x380 and the carburetor setup is a bit different. Mine has a screw off bowl. I also had to take a cover on the bumper off in order to slide my carburetor out. I just use a cans worth of carb and choke cleaner and clean the body, jets and bowl really well. I also take my air compressor to blow the jets out before final installation.

My old cub cadet would just randomly stop running while i was cutting. Itd only do it once or twice a month,but it was super annoying. It had a nikki carburetor that had no way to be rebuilt( that i could find) cub cadet had discontinued it at dealer parts and i had to turn to ebay and buy a chinese carburetor, but it fixed my issues,for now. I guess it wss picking up some kind of trash out of the bowl periodically and stopping its jet up.

Hi, my replacement carb came with an metal plate with a Venturi effect at the bottom. Which way should it be positioned.? LA145 John Deere, thanks. Excellent video.

Thanks for posting this video. My JD X500 is blowing smoke and leaking gas from the bottom of the carb. Best I can tell the float is stuck and not cutting off the gas. I have not disassembled yet but looking at your video I expected to see a tapered needle attached to the float that would fit in a fuel line jet. However, your float bowl components done show anything like that. Can you offer any help re. What I should be looking for to fix a stuck float. Thanks
@247parts
@247parts 2 года назад
A lot of the floats will disassemble easily but this one would not so I would just be thorough when taking your carb apart and be liberal when applying your cleaner to try to eliminate any build up on all parts, big or small. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@@247parts I too have this same carb. setup. but have not got the carb off yet. the carb is flooding out like the needle and seat are stuck in the open position or the float sunk. Do these floats ever sink and fill with fuel? or is it just stuck open with gunk on the shaft of the float or crap in the seat area?

Im hoping you can help me with a quick question. I have a JD D125 and I was cleaning my carb. When I took it apart, I didnt know about the small brass piece in the middle of the float. Do you know what way that brass piece goes back into the float? I cant find any diagram online to answer my question. Thanks!

@@247parts yes sir. It’s the linkage that’s connected to the carburetor that’s giving me a hard time. I’ve not been able to get it off, and now I’m curious if I’ve bent it.

Smoke from the air filter does not sound good. I would be reaching out to your local dealership to talk to a small engines technician on this one.

Thanks my guy....what attachments can I get for my d125 as snow plows
@247parts
@247parts 2 года назад
There is a 46" blade option (BG20943) for the front or a 44" snow blower option that would have to be ordered through a dealership because it is considered a wholesale unit rather than just a part. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@joeisaac5650
@joeisaac5650 5 месяцев назад
My search for a D125 landed me here. Indeed the D125 is very different to get the carb off but can be done. The bolts holding the housing are actually in the back, not the front. You need to carefully remove all hoses and springs, then remove the manifold system to get to the carburetor. After that, you can start at 4:10 on the video.

How is it different from a liquid cooling carberator
@247parts
@247parts 2 года назад
There really is no difference in the two. The engine would be different but the cooling system would not affect the carburetor. Good question and thanks for watching!

@@247parts You really know your stuff I must say! I have a three year old John Deere riding mower and it's been giving me problems. I bought it from John Deere and not from a big box store. There isn't anyone in my small town to work on it either. I really wish I knew how to do it myself. I did however find (believe it or not), a lady in another town that claims she works on mowers and her specialty is JD. I let her and her husband pick up my mower on Saturday and she does have a business license but I have a feeling I might not see my mower again. If not, I have plenty of information about this person plus video from my Ring Doorbell. Good for you for learning what you know and posting it. Thanks!!!

@@sandrajohnson2489 So......did it turn out OK for you? I am almost afraid I know what the answer is.
@sandrajohnson2489
@sandrajohnson2489 2 года назад
@@MrTruckerf Hi. Actually everything turned out great. The lady said she took the carburetor apart, gave it a good cleaning, drained the gas tank and put in new gas. The mower runs just like new. The issue was caused by me (of course). I had read long ago that adding fuel stabilizer to a full tank of gas was crucial to the mower running properly so that's what I always did. Turns out, this is not true. It gunked up my mower's carburetor. Fuel stabilizer should only be added before putting the mower away for the season. Learned a valuable lesson for sure. Thank goodness I wasn't charged a lot. The lady only charged me $60 and free pickup and delivery. Can't beat that.
