Learned the hard way that this is not the way.. you can seriously ruin and fade the interior surfaces of your car like this. Highly advise no one does this.
@katyb2793
@katyb2793 Год назад
What happened when you tried it?
@brevenlangley5726
@brevenlangley5726 Год назад
@@katyb2793 it will make the area hazy and lightened. It will be very noticeable and in some cases not even some interior shine will blend it. Definitely not something to use on plastic. If you do use it on leather he VERY gentle. You’d always be better off using just a microfiber towel, if you can’t hide the scratches with some interior shine, perhaps consider using a heat gun carefully and heat up the plastic, making sure not to touch or smear it until it is cooled.

@@brevenlangley5726 I see, thanks so much for such a detailed response! It's really helpful :) mine is really super scratched unfortunately, so I don't think it could look much worse. But it sounds like a heat gun is definitely the better way to go. Thanks so much!

Thank you. 👍😁 The "sponge" is made from melamine foam. I personally would not use that type of abrasive foam on interior or exterior plastic trims. As you have demonstrated, it has removed the large scuffs but you have now micro scuffed the entire interior lower door trim. To the eye it is now seriously marred. I enjoy your videos but to yourself and others; don't do this to your car.

Black colour restorer or shoe polish does the trick .

You sure a black color restorer will fix this ?
@nkonie7177

This will only work if you plan on painting color-match either by blending it in or doing the whole panel. Planning on doing my truck’s interior & I definitely can see a color & or texture difference once the panel is scuffed up.

seems straight forward, will try it on a non visible area first as it's a new car.

After reading the comments: So maybe do a TWO STEP - Magic Eraser gentle abrasion and then top off with the superior Trim Serum by Lithium - found on Amazon - worth trying

Those sponges are basically sand paper. Use very lightly and at your own risk.

Nothing can clear these kind of scuffs on plastic . Not even using a heat gun which will make it disappear but will leave an oil shine different colour to the rest of the trim . If your car is new get a new plastic trim or If you worried like me when car from new cover those areas with clear paint protection film . They are in different sizes in Amazon .

DONt use magic eraser as they too abrasive Do this instead 1. Get a spray bottle fill with water and dawn dish washing soap (little squirts) 2.get detailing brush to apply then wipe off with microfabric towel(clean) 3. Spray with protectant like meguiars etc…

Be very careful with these magic sponges! They are more abrasive than you'd think! On my car doors they left very ugly grey spots, while not even completely removing the scuff marks. Try them first on a small area that's not as visible and see if they work well on your car's plastic or not!

No no no! This is the internet! Your supposed to tell people to spray the door panel down with some gasoline, then hit it with a propane torch for about 30 seconds, then go over that with a dry ice blaster to really get it good and smooth, then wipe down whatever is left with a nice soft microfiber towel! 😂

When using something like a magic eraser on a plastic surface you are ultimately leveling that surface through abrasion therefore leaving the surface dry and pourus a follow up step should be done in the form of a proctectant such as 303 aerospace proctectant @@AmorFati777X
