I will show you how to quickly remove scuff marks from a car, how to remove paint transfer from a car and how to quickly remove scratches on your car resulting from scuff marks and paint transfer. Do not use on freshly painted panels or bumpers or if your car is painted with older lacquer paint . Use extreme caution and try in an inconspicuous spot before continuing.

Happens all the time in California. Self absorbed, malicious people. They’re too fat to get out of their cars, and get pissed even though your car is well within the parking spot lines. In my opinion, they should choose to park farther where they have plenty of room to roll out of their cars.

Hi i had a really bad luck and i scratched a big part of the rear side door throught a white wall jn a indoor parking of a apple store Honestly after cleaning with car soap and water I see that its deep white scratches in a black car im having I will go a head and buy the accessory needed to repair it like in your video but I was just wondering will it work on deep scratches on a black car ??

The acetone will only remove the paint from whatever you hit. You can try to compound and polish the remaining scratches, but if they are to deep it will likely need repainted

God bless you, i have a new tesla and someone scuffed it today and i was so sad and i watched so many videos that were 20 mins and that had so many products and i felt overwhelmed then i found you a straight to the point solution like you could have kept this to yourself and yet you shared i really appreciate you. Well august 26, 2023 I scraped my car trying to reverse in my garage and thank god I found this video… made my way to Walmart and found acetone, did it right in the walmart parking lot and it WORKED! The scrap is completely gone, just needed a little dap, wiped off, good as new!

How do you clean off the acetone? Would it damage the clear coat and paint if it sets?

The acetone will evaporate within seconds and be gone. However it does strip the wax off so you’ll need to apply your favorite wax once your finished. I’ve never had it damage clear coat

Not sure but if it helps, I have done this at least once a week on customers cars for the past 20 years with no issue. Try a small spot first. If you have doubts, hire a detailer

NOT NAIL POLISH REMOVER. Yes it contains acetone. But also a number of other chemicals. Go pick up a quart of Kleen strip acetone in the blue tin from Walmart lowes or Home Depot

Road paint is tough to remove. The acetone should work but if it doesn’t you might have better luck with goof off.

This worked magically and quickly. I had accidently rubbed my husband's new & much-loved white pick up on one of the Chic FilA signs that was in front of one of their pull-ups. Hey, though I liked this Video of the use of the Acetone, there are other Websites mentioning that Acetone should not be used on your Car to repair Scuff Marks removal as in time, the ingrediants in the Acetone, will slowly eat away at your Car Paint, in damaging once you apply the Acetone, I mean tell me that these Websites are Wrong in what they say about don't use Acetone on your car repairing Scuff Marks ..hmm🤔

Wow DJ! That is truly miraculous! I have a brand new white sportbike and when I was taking the wheel dolly out from under it it flipped up and hit the front mask right above the headlight and left a hell of a bunch of black paint transfer. And paint scuff search brought me to you. I had given acetone some thought but I was a little worried that acetone eat s polyurethane such as clear coat material. As you said I will try it on an inconspicuous area. Will it cloud things up in any degree? Are you bound to having to do a compound step even if there aren't scratches? Thanks for the great video. You shouldn’t have any issues. The acetone will remove wax. So rub s little wax on it after you done. Shouldn’t cloud up

I’m using a professional compound product that comes in a gallon, but you can use meguiars ultimate compound followed by meguiars ultimate polish. You can find it anywhere. Walmart, autozone etc

I bought the Acetone but it didn't come off. A car kind hit me on my left side bumper yesterday. My car is white, his car is black so I have some scratches of black paint on the bumper. Yes please send pics to thedetailingbusiness@gmail.com and I’ll try to help you out. What you might be running into is your bumper is black plastic under the paint. It may have gone through the paint and down to the plastic substrate, and that is what you’re seeing. Can you feel the scuff when you rub your hand across it?

@Stakker for some reason my original reply to Tranquility Base Detailing disappeared. The reason I do this even though it needs compounding, is because I would rather remove the paint transfer first because it would have taken much longer and the pad would have quickly gotten loaded up with paint transfer and I would have needed to change pads to prevent introducing more scratches from a gunked up pad. Why not quickly clear the canvas to reveal the real damage and then buff it out.

So I have 3 tiny scuff on my scat pack from a car wash I don’t wanna ruin the paint it’s just on the pearl! Is this completely safe? Or only works on certain paint I just seen you do it on black pearl but wanna be safe then sorry

So I have some white lines that come from my ac down the side. Black streak removed the lines on the fiberglass however on the lower metal trim around the fifth wheel, I can’t seem to get it off. I’ve tried alcohol, lighter fluid soap and water and nothing. Any suggestions?

Might try some 50/50 vinegar and water. Let it soak and keep it wet for a bit

I tried using acetone nail polish remover and nothing happened. The scuff is on my black plastic bumper. The ingredients include water and other dilution, do I need pure acetone?

Yep. Careful on unpainted plastic. Try an inconspicuous spot first

Thanks. If I use a little acetone in a inconspicuous area, what result would be a red flag not to use? Or what result to go ahead with the repair?

Sometimes on bare plastic I’ve seen it soften and smear the plastic

Nice tip. Wouldn't lacquer thinner do the same thing? I've used that as a go to in removing paint scuffs, transfer, or splatter.

I'm not that privy to paint jobs....How do I know if I have the typa of paint job i shouldn't use this method on I don't wanna Make it worse but Ik you mentioned if you have a Certain type of Paint job you shouldn't use this method...

If it’s an older car, pre 80’s, probably has lacquer paint and I wouldn’t use this method. Other than that you should be ok

I’d be cautious. Try an inconspicuous spot first. Make sure it’s been a while since it’s been repainted so it’s fully cured

If I don’t have a buffer machine . Where can I go to ask for the spot I scuffed to be polished like you did ? Also what would be an average fee to pay for this small spot on the car to be polished please? Thank you 😊
