In this video I show how to connect both the Alesis SR-16 and Ion iDM02 to an Arturia MicroBrute. All you need is a standard MIDI cable.

What are the other cords in both the Alesis and the Microbrute (like the RCA cords in the back of the Alesis and cords in the middle of the back of the Microbrute?)

If you're referring to the jacks in the back - the Alesis has: 2 footswitch plugs (start/stop; and Count/A/B/Fill); 2 mono audio outputs; MIDI in; MIDO out/through; headphone; tape (that's probably for saving things) and Aux In/Out. I'm using the stereo mono outs, and MIDI out/through for this demo. The MicroBrute has: Pitch Out, Gate Out, Gate In, Line Out (mono audio), headphones, audio in, USB and power. In this video I'm using: MIDI In (from the SR-16), USB connected to a PC, Line out... PLUS I'm using CV Gate Out and Pitch out that I can run to a Behringer Model D and use the MicroBrute as a MIDI controller and sequencer for the Model D. Hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you have any others! Thanks for asking :-)

Hi I have an Alesis SR16 and I would like to use the rhythms i programmed into the drum machine on a yamaha keyboard but still using the same baseline I programmed into the Yamaha keyboard. In other words I created several styles in the Yamaha keyboard, but the rhythms are not so good as the one I programmed in the drum machine. Is there a way to do this pls?

great question! But, unfortunately, that's WAY beyond my level of knowledge. Hopefully someone else will chime up and offer some advice - Thanks for asking! ...sorry I couldn't help.

Hi, good morning, I'm trying to connect an akai xr20 drum machine via midi to my strike multipad (I have 2), which I can't get it to work from the alesis. I don't know if it has another midi configuration or what to do and I've tried everything The strange thing is that I have other older drum machines and they work without problems when connected, I tried my 2 alesis and it doesn't work, after giving up I connected the akai to the alesis sample rack and it works too. my query should the strike multipad have another midi configuration? I feel a little disappointed I bought 2 alesis for shoot drum machine and I can't get them to work. Could you help me with that, greetings from Chile :)

Not sure I have an answer - but did you try playing with the MIDI channel assignments on the devices? It could be the Alesis is looking for a particular channel and the akia is set for a different number. That would be the only thing I can think of. FYI - I am not a MIDI expert by any means!

hello thanks for answering, yes and tried everything in alesis, the strange thing is that in another module it works immediately, that's the strange thing :( @@fishpotpete

Hi! Can you sync this drum machine with the roland gaia sh01 arpeggio? Thank

O Roland Gaia precisa receber o sinal de Midi Clock vindo da Alesis SR16. Conecte o midi Out da Alesis SR16 para o Midi in do Roland Gaia. Entre nas configurações midi de ambos aparelhos. Veja se na Alesis SR16 está habilitado o Midi Clock Out. E no Roland Gaia o Midi Clock in. Quando vc dar Start na Alesis SR16, o Roland Gaia receberá o sinal de Clock e vai tocar o arpeggio no mesmo tempo da Alesis SR16. Acho que isso também influenciará nos efeitos de Delay, Etc. Boa sorte !!
