Hello, A-Sven-gers! Thanks for checking out my review of the Nintendo Multi Out composite cable for SNES, N64 & Game Cube. An improvement over RF (radio frequency) in terms of video and audio signals, composite was a widely used standard for video games in the 90s and early 2000s; with today's devices, is it possible to connect to modern televisions? In this video I connect composite to a CRT, an HDTV and even a UHD 4K TV and display gameplay.

Thank you! I'm fourteen and while I have an older TV its being occupied by my playstation 2, so this video has helped me have designated spots for my n64 and my ps2.

Great idea bud! Truly an excellent idea. I use the audio out to tie into an old surround sound 👍

@@SvennyMcG me too with the sound system My capture card DVD to VHS about 80 bucks at Walmart and you can probably find cheaper ones similar ones on Amazon You're going to see video of it soon on my channel again and I didn't even calibrate it properly this time.I've had trouble using it for its intended purpose I always get weird color flashing on the screen when I do a VHS to the computer but recording anything else like my cable box or video games or digital antenna it works perfectly fine

does the monitor out send the same signal input that you use for example if you use component in then does the monitor out then send the component signal out?

Hi! Generally, Monitor Out is for audio only and sends out the left & right audio channels. I believe this is an analog (not digital signal). If you use component in it should pass the same audio out 👍

I have a question does the Nintendo 64 work on a Toshiba Tv? On the back it says Colorstream HD and it has three reds 2 whites and 1 yellow and a blue and green. Audio Is where the white is and Video is where the red is so do I only need to plug in red for Video and white for Audio? And leave yellow out? Or do I need to plug in yellow too?
@SvennyMcG
@SvennyMcG 4 месяца назад
Hi! Colorstream HD is Toshiba's way of saying Component video and you are looking for Composite. For Component you'd need a cable that has Red, Green & Blue video inputs as well as the red & white audio inputs (the two reds get confusing!). For your N64, your Composite cable had Yellow (video) and red & white (audio). Insert the Yellow video into the Yellow port and the red & white into the red and white audio ports. On the Toshiba TV you'll need to set the input to something like AV, Composite or something similar. If you stay on Colorstream for the channel it won't come through. Let me know if it works!

Help. What am I doing wrong? I’m using an older Toshiba tv. I can set up a DVD player to it. I’ve plugged everything in like you did for my Nintendo 64. But I keep getting no signal. I only have the following choices on my tv: ANT. Video 1. Video 2. Colorstream HD1. Colorstream HD2. HDMI 1. HDMI 2. and PC. At the moment I have my red, yellow and white plug in’s into Video 2. And have tried the other options. Still nothing. Thanks for any help.

Hi! I'll do my best 😊 Have you tried your DVD player into Video 2? Want to make sure it's not that specific input. Next, I'd confirm that the N64 works on another TV using the cables. Want to confirm that it's not the console. If you boot it on another TV, leave the cartridge in when you hook it back up to the Toshiba to ensure it's not the game port etc. Trying to single out all the variables

I don't like how TV manufacturers decided to cheap out by combining both composite and component into one port instead of making them separate like older HDTVs did. What happens if you need to use both?
@SvennyMcG
@SvennyMcG Год назад
Yeah you definitely get less ports in that situation unfortunately 😔 It stinks that so many TVs are losing them today

I have sound but no video. I plugged it in like you did, but no video. I’m using the red, yellow and white cable plugged into the red, White and green jacks on the back of my TV
@SvennyMcG
@SvennyMcG Год назад
When selecting the TV input does your TV have "Composite in", "AV in" or something similar?
@aprilt4542
@aprilt4542 Год назад
The component 1 was saying there was something there and I chose it only to hear sound but no video
@SvennyMcG
@SvennyMcG Год назад
@@aprilt4542 Component 1 will be looking for video from all 3 video inputs, not just the green input where you have the yellow plugged in. You'll need a setting labeled AV or composite. Not all TVs will unfortunately have this but have a look and see 👍

But for this to work you need a Blank Recordable Disc with No Videos in it And a computer with a disc drive and once you put in the disc Extract the recording from the disc and it should be a import video file (if you want you can edit it) then upload it to youtube

Hey I found the white and red slots but no yellow. On my tv there was no yellow just green
@SvennyMcG
@SvennyMcG 2 месяца назад
Towards the end of this video you'll see an example of this: your TV supports Component. If it supports Composite (AV) as well, you will see it listed as an option in the inputs. You can select the Composite / AV input and place the yellow in the green input. Make sure the white and red are in the audio sections (and not in the red video socket, for example).

As far as I know and I'm still doing research on it the super Nintendo and model 2 Sega Genesis puts out RGB video on the multi-out There should be a way (again still trying to figure it out) to adapt that to VGA computer monitors And even component with an adapter And also using scart adapters
@SvennyMcG

The variety of cables available today are plentiful - there are HDMI options available for many of these retro consoles even! Personally, I've been using S-Video on my SNES and N64 (and plan on covering that in a video soon).

No thanks, I'd prefer S-video, RGB SCART and for modern HDTV's I'd prefer the Retrotink upscalers

Definitely a lot of different ways to connect the console but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I did so an S-Video vs Composite video and agree there is a noticeable difference 👍😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KMNF5GdLK0w.html
