My daughter has the marvel and says that when it pairs to the phone she can’t hear ambient noise, just the phone. Is is possible to hear her surroundings and hear the Bluetooth source at the same time? What setting in the app controls that?

HI Rachel: Your videos are excellent, very clear and informative. Do you know how many direct Bluetooth connections I can make to the Marvel processors? Also, from this video it seems that I can stream audio directly from my smart phone by Bluetooth without the need for a special receiver or Roger device - true?

Thank you for your kind comments! You can be paired to two Bluetooth devices for media streaming and 2 Bluetooth LE devices for app control. However, you can only be connected to one device at a time for streaming purposes and must switch between the two as desired or needed (it does not switch automatically). No extra parts or receivers needed to connect to anything Bluetooth and even has built in Roger receivers so no need for the external parts when connecting to Roger devices (just need the license installed to use the Roger receivers). Thanks for watching!!

Hi Rachel Thanks for this useful information. I have one question. Does this app work for Naida CI or only for the Marvel?

Thanks for commenting and watching! The app is only compatible with the new Marvel processors - the M90 and Sky CI M

Hello Rachel, I got my second cochlear implant a month ago and hooked up only 2 weeks ago. It was a great decision that I will never regret. However, now when I try to connect my second CI to Bluetooth, it doesn't connect unless I turn on my first CI. Maybe it is because the first CI is the main one recognized by the Bluetooth? Is this a problem you have encountered before or is there something wrong with my CI's software or otherwise?

When using bluetooth for streaming, only one device is the primary connection and therefore must be connected to your device in order to hear with the opposite side. You can request for the controller ear to be switched if you would like to use just the one side. This would be important if you are attempting to rehab just your new ear.

If your TV is Bluetooth enabled you can pair directly from your TV to your processor. If you don't have a Bluetooth enabled TV or simply want another option, I highly recommend the Phonak TV Connector for direct streaming from your TV or any device with a headphone jack. I love my TV Connector for ease of use and plug mine in to my laptop for quick streaming capabilities.

Hi! The Marvel processors will be compatible with virtually any Bluetooth enabled device but if you want to check for a certain phone model, you can use Phonak's page: www.phonak.com/com/en/support/product-support/compatibility.html

I'll be traveling a long flight to Europe soon. I dont think TV screen on an airplane has a bluetooth. So I'm buying airfly bluetooth transmitter and I hope it works with AB Marvels.

Thanks for the comment - I haven't had experience with bluetooth transmitters/adapters, however I would imagine that it would work ok since Marvels utilize bluetooth classic. I would recommend experimenting with it before you leave. As an alternative, you could use either the TV Connector or the Roger On (or Select or Pen) to plug into the headphone jack as well. Just know that the TV Connector does require an external power source so either plugging into the outlet on the plane or using a portable battery pack. Let me know how it works for you!

@@2EarsAreBetterThan1 Hmm... I did not think about TV Connector or the Roger. I've tested my AirFly before I go and it's working well so far. 👍
