I know you need views, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that having a page with it laid out could and would be easily updated with more then an added comment to the video. A high percentage of people don’t want to pause and rewind constantly to get all the information. Offering a spread on your already made discord or simply attaching that option onto the video from even a word document would be beneficial and widen your outreach and accessibility to your fans. I’m not bagging on what you do by any means or I wouldn’t even watch your videos. I appreciate them and what you do, but as stated before just speaking towards a simple fact because I think your channel deserves more attention and exposure.
As a kid i never even gotten past mining Bronze. Its now 2022 im 24 taking it all in as a completely new player pretty much. Its extremely overwhelming with the feeling of "im late to the party" but im toughing through it. Ive spent the past 5 days now on Osrs, Watching countless videos. Until i found this one. This is hands down the best guide ive gone through. Thankyou for making it so simple my guy!

Don’t get me wrong I’m a p2p player but when Kaoz said “let’s take a few steps back for our free to play brothers and sisters” just made me smile so much. I feel like other guides would neglect this section, Kaoz is a man of the people!
To be fair, it’s pretty straightforward for free to play. Iron ->steel->mythril->addy->rune. Range and mage only have like 1 to 2 more option after lvl 1

Elite void, brimstone boots and brimstone rings makes for a solid budget tribrid gear. It's solid enough that you can do solo cox with it, giving you only 5 switches to work with (head, weapon, off-hand, cape and necklace). I highly recommend getting them on your late game set-up
A couple things I'd amend about this guide in 2023. *All this will probably be wrong after Project Rebalance* First, any gear upgrade that doesn't offer a Melee, Ranged, or Magic strength bonus should pretty much always be purchased AFTER your next available strength increasing upgrade. This means skip the seers ring, archers ring, eternal boots, infinity boots, master wand, and mage's book. For range, instead of the archer's ring, buy a blowpipe, it's 10x better DPS than a magic shortbow and it's cheaper than a ring. For mage, instead of the seers ring or eternal/infinity boots, buy the brimstone ring. brimstone boots, and occult necklace. It's only marginally less magic accuracy and you're saving millions of GP, skip the master wand and mage's book altogether and instead purchase Ahrim's robes, the Trident of the Swamp and Ancient staff will work just fine until you can afford a Sang Staff, speaking of sang staff, it is what you should be buying before full ancestral. In fact, your dps would increase more if you just barraged maniacal monkeys to 99 magic instead of buying ancestral robes. And a few notes about Melee upgrade progression, note that it's heavily dependent on the current prices of items since pretty much everything is a DPS upgrade unlike magic or ranged gear. First, upgrade your normal whip to a tentacle whip ASAP, that means before Bandos gear, before Primordial boots, before ferocious gloves, even before the serp helm. Important note about the serpentine helm, it costs a lot of gp in zulrah scales to keep charged. Around 70K gp per hour. Unless you're doing raids or bossing, do not use the serp helm, stick with the neitiznot helm. At current prices Torture and Ferocious gloves are essentially identical upgrades so go with whatever is cheaper at the time. DO NOT UPGRADE TO A BANDOS CHESTPLATE OR TASSETS UNTIL THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT. You gain a +1 Strength bonus for swapping out your figher torso and obsidian platelegs for bandos gear, and lose 50 million GP. Buy an osmumten's fang instead. The same thing goes for Primordial boots, they give you 1 melee strength bonus and cost you 40 million GP, buy this one dead last.

Wow, I can't stress how awesome this video is. It covers so much and with a ton of detail. I love that you took into account the price efficiency of items and not just, bigger stat = next gear upgrade. Only thing I could ask for is an update on newer items in your pinned comment as they are adapted to in game. For example, you mentioned the Osmumten's Fang as a nice upgrade to the Rapier and to get it after TBow but with the current prices, it should probably just completely replace the Rapier(?) I'm not sure, but updates like this would be appreciated. Love your content and thanks!
This guide is pretty good for the most part aside from the several useless magic upgrades like Infinity/Eternal boots, Master Wand, Mage's Boots, and Seer's Ring. As well as buying an Archer's Ring before a Toxic Blowpipe, or Primordial Boots before a Tentacle Whip.

Bowfa + crystal armor and blowpipe switch covers for almost all ranged situations right up until twisted + masori for like 1/5th of a cost. Definitely try it out, it's super good! Nice guide :)
I'd say my favorite combat item is the Ancient Mace from the Dorgeshuun storyline. At 74 prayer I'm able to boost to 102 via black mask on a combat dummy... Really helps cut down on prayer potion costs. Rsn: SinfulSlayr
I'd say that the Broodoo shield is actually pretty great, _certainly_ well worth using over the anti-dragon. even ignoring the admittedly small magic attack bonus, as well as the defense bounuses, it's literally _BiS prayer._ it's tied with the God Books, but dosn't require Horror from the Deep.

Yeah… I just did an extensive search for a TRUE Ironman Gear Progression guide with quests ect, while grinding your acc (which I myself am doing right now) and there literally isn’t a single guide specifically designed for that type of guide. VERY surprised that the Bone Crossbow did not get mentioned in This video.. The bone crossbow was an absolute life saver for my ironman and has surprisingly great dps on your journey to 70+ ranged. Bone crossbow and bolts can be boughten after just a few quests and saves you a ton of time & money. I personally used my bone crossbow even after getting the rune crossbow. So it’s also a great alternative to the Magic short bow (I) so you’re not spending a ton on good arrows.
Started a new account recently for afk slayer and gwd dolo. This is a nice refresher on progression since I haven’t had to think about early levels in a long time. The route I’m going is to rush range upgrades so that I can get an early firecape to train melee with. Nice to have one place to go to make sure I have all the upgrades possible as I level the account.
Only thing I'd change about this is to only go after the Inferno Cape after getting max combat. A new player is going to suffer tremendously if they try to do it with 80's in combat stats.
That depends. I'm not new to bossing or runescape. However, I am new to the whole mechanics of these bosses. If they've done dt2, probably can do inferno, with practice of course.
It's pretty crazy that No one recommends the Dragonbone Necklace even though it has stats comparable to an Amulet of Fury, a passive effect, +12 Prayer Bonus, upgradable to a BoneCrusher Necklace and like 90% cheaper than a Fury Ammy. It's wild as the extra prayer bonus will save you big time on Prayer Pots, especially with the passive effect of the Dragonbone.
I love the dbone necklace. Especially at vyres. I can sit there for 5+ minutes depending on my prayer set up before going to recharge. Another side thing is the Preserve prayer which I rarely hear talked about. It barely drains your prayer and makes potting up a lot less frequent. Saves money and effectively doubles the time with higher stats. I almost always use it when bossing or pvming for cash.
I’m currently farming castle wars for the t3 boots. 342 out of 400 atm. If you go for this, get an alt and just splash on each other. I’ve gone from 40 magic to 69 magic, and 11 magic to 59 magic on my alt. Main using fire strike and alt using air strike. For f2p to get that very high negative magic bonus, use Cursed Goblin Staff, stronghold of security boots, green d hide vamb, and full plate gear.
Lol I got drunk and cleared my entire bank about 8 months ago. No untradeables. Just got void ranged and got my fire cape back so I can get assembler. This has way more info than I even anticipated
Dude, idk if it exists already, haven’t tried looking it up. But an Ironman Gear progression guide would be absolutely fantastic & I know it would help a TON of people out there. If you get the time man, that right there would be a great video to make.
There are a few honorable mentions for f2p melee gear. When you unlock rune armor and green dhide, wearing green dhide vambraces gives more resistances thatn gloves. Besides that amazing work. My favoruite item has to be the Brimstone Ring, due to its versatility and zero stat requirments. So if you are a first time member and dont have a lot of gp it's a solid investment.
Also for F2P, he mentioned the gold Castle Wars boots but not the others. The white boots cost 40 tickets and the red boots only cost 4 tickets! The red boots are much better than the boots from the Stronghold of Security and you can get in just an hour or so of Castle Wars.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the brimstone ring and boots. They're very useful all round items if you need to swap combat styles and can't handle quick switches (yet). (RSN: Andolyn)

I would like to mention - if you can afford it, you should get your Fury right away at level 3 along with a Regen Bracelet or at the very least a combat bracelet as they don’t have any requirements to wear and yet offer huge offensive and defensive bonuses. And for your magic setup, a Regular/Mystic Smoke Staff offers a +10% Magic Damage bonus to all standard spells, which you can further improve with a Tome of Fire which offers +50% Damage to all Fire Spells; Both of these items can be worn at a relatively low magic level (40?) and offer an absolutely massive dps increase and therefore XP/HR increase - Though they are quite expensive to purchase and to upkeep.
A year late, but this is really well done. With all the gear our there and different ways to use it all, it can be overwhelming. What shocks me though is barrows stacks up even today. Its by no means best in slot, but nearly all pieces still have a use (with Ahrims being the in between until ancestral/virtus) Also crystal armour isn't great in defence, it's really only used for Bowfa due to the damage output. However. A lot of cases, it outperforms the blowpipe in dps due to its insane accuracy. As for the armadyl gear, it's much more niche compared to other gear, even the bowfa would be more worthwhile in the long run, especially if you're raiding

I couldn't help but check it out since beyond what I know from back in the day I don't know about new content & gear, like Zulrah etc. It's weird seeing things like Bandos, Armadyl and Nex in osrs. Poor girl she doesn't look very good in her original incarnation. btw one thing I miss the most is runescape chronicle, that cards game. It had cards from both games, so as a 99% rs3 player it was great fun to see things crop up like Cerberus I think or those lava dragons. :)
Can you please remake this video once Varlemore is released? Since this was uploaded we've got scythe buffs, fang nerfs, raids 3 items, tumeken's shadow, etc.
Been improving my gear since watching this - now abyssal whip, ddf, nezzy helm, fighter torso, fury, obby legs, berserker ring (i), blessing 3 and d boots... just the fire cape now for maximum chad

Is there any video of the post-quest kills? Since you killed Vorkath with base 65 stats I would love to see how the fight goes. I have base 75s with 82 range and could barely hit him and ran out of food before 1 kill. I can only find people with 90+ stats wearing "low level" gear and killing Vorkath.
I felt like I wanted to add, I have the castle war boots. I spent my time playing my main and alt while I afk splashed in each other. Getting the boots really isn’t to bad, it’s rough cap is about 120 hours.
I'd say my favourite combat item is Toxic Blowpipe because I'm really new to RuneScape and doesn't have much knowledge outside of the guides, and I finally killed Jad from my 9th try and it's such an amazing feeling because I finally beat Jad down and I got the Fire Cape as well. And I want to say thank you for the gear progression guide, I wish I know these things sooner before I'm investing things into my combat gears, but I'll keep this guide in mind for future references, so thank you Kaoz! This is a good guide for an experienced player making a new account. Not for a new player making a new account. You put jad before 70 range, dragon slayer 2 really early on. Most new players probably won’t even think about vorkath until they’re almost max combat. Nor will they be able to kill him with 70 range and a rune crossbow with black d hide lmao
Here to clear some things in f2p Using god armour will be much better than regular rune armour since in gives prayer bonus. You can use the blue decorative boots instead of the golden one since it is a lot cheaper and have mithril boots stats. The bryophyta staff is now the bis mage weapon with a bonus of 15 in mage acc regular staves give 10 bonus. My favorite weapon will be the addy long sword since it is the first weapon i hit 10 with it. Rsn: l0rd 0f day2

Awesome video my man, idk how old this is, but I think some things are innaccurate? No ranger boots or ranger hat, no spiked manacles, no fremenik kilt? And obsidian legs can be used as soon as 50 defence I think? As well, fighter torso is good from level 40. I understand that you targeted this at new players that wont be able to just do 10 hours of barbarian assault as soon as they get membership! So I get it.
My favorite weapon is the Abyssal Whip! It just feels great and iconic. Mine was gifted to me by a higher level player after a Turoth slayer task when I mentioned I was saving up for one! They took a 1 Mil loss since I gave them my cash stack and my DScim so that I could get my upgrade. I plan on doing the same one day too!! OSRS Name: TheXPR3
