Pretty nice, dude! One tip: you can use th the transmitter's switches on Liftoff. You just need to set them on channel 9 upwards (10, 11, ...) and then go to options , controls and buttons. Then you set them in the right list. 😊
Been waiting for one of these to come out, although not much harder to plug in cable vs a dongle. The cord never really gets in my way. Not sure if it's worth the $20 just to be wireless, but still...pretty nifty
And if you don't want a dongle and have a quad near your computer, just plug it in and enter the following into the CLI in Betaflight (3.2 and later): set usb_hid_cdc = on And your quad's FC will apppear as a USB joystick in the control panel :)
It will only work with transmitters that support FRSKY D16 protocol. You can also connect a Spectrum receiver to a BF flight controller and use it as well if you're looking for a cheaper solution: github.com/betaflight/betaflight/wiki/HID-Joystick-Support
have you tried it in fpv freerider on pc? i cant make it work in this sim but it works perfectly on liftoff i dont know if i am the only one with this problem
I have had Freerider for 2+ years. I found it useful to learn and practice acro flying when I moved over from toy quads. I stopped using it when I started doing flips and rolls and power loops - it just didn't seem to help learn as I needed to practice in LOS, which always looked too distant on the SIM. Do you think another SIM would be better for more freestyle moves (I'm still shaky on power loops)?
Just my experience, but line of sight is a lot harder for me than FPV, with my goggles on I can do things I would never try with LOS. Even cheap goggles make it night and day difference
Yep, I've got Fatsharks and agree it's easier to fly acro FPV. But learning any spin moves in FPV is harder for me because I feel like I'm spinning instead of standing still and watching the quad spin in LOS. Once I've got the muscle memory for the move pretty good in LOS, then I can do it FPV.
As shown in the video, when you press the bind button on the remote controller after turning on the USB, the connection is not as shown in the video and the USB remains as it was when turned on.
