Ever since the X-Lite came out the one thing I lamented was the fact that it didn’t show as much information on the main screen as the X9D. It’s basically the same screen as the FrSky QX7. Well now things to Andrew Farly that is no longer an issue. In fact the screen on the QX7 and X-Lite is WAY BETTER than the X9D. It only takes a little tweaking to make it work just right on your personal setup but I cover all of that in this video.

I wrote some of the very first lua scripts for the x9d, what soon became apparent is the screen is pretty much useless apart from post flight analysis etc, you simply cannot look at the screen whilst flying.....I did make a screen which allowed me to fly without looking at the plane though which was cool. Audio is much more useful generally though, setting timer to go off at certain points and voltage may etc etc

Great script but in my experience telemetry on the TX screen is not that useful unless you are flying LOS. After all you've got googles on. So unless its in braille.....

yes i did find this video useful and i did like it. if the x-lite had 18650 batteries, larger screen and M9 gimbals it would be perfect. oh and a place to attach a little screen.

What about FC's with a inbuilt SPI reciever? You can see voltages in OSD, but not in telemetry.

Help, please. I put the micro SD card from my Taranis X9 Lite and put it in my PC. But I can't copy and paste or drag the lua script to the Script folder: the cursor changes to the prohibited circle as it enters the script folder. I've added voices before, but can't figure out what's going on now.

Hey can anyone help with an issue that I am having with this script. The armed script is reversed for me. It is showing armed when quad is not and not showing armed when it is. I am linked to correct switch in radio. What do I need to change? Thanks.

Hi Mark, as you're the xlite master, i have a question if I may. My joystick (top 'thing out of the 3) doesnt like to change selection moving up? Going down and it's a happy as Larry. Is there a fix or workaround that you know of? Can I assign a different switch, the toggle on the left perhaps? TIA & kind regards

Right now you can't make it automatically start with a LUA script. But all you have to do is pull the stick down real quick to get to it. Once you set it up on the telemetry page that will work every time.

hey mate i seem to be having a problem with the script. i seem to get a "script panic not enough memory" warning when trying to execute the script. i followed your guide to a tee, the only difference was that i saw you put a farl.luac file on aswell. is that something i need? if so where can i find it? cheers

Thanks for the tutorial Mark. Everything works but how do I reverse the armed display? I've set the toggle switch - on my QX7, its 'sf'. But the armed animation is on when sf is in disarmed position. Can't work out how to reverse this.

Just worked it out. Not sure if this is how it should be done, but it works. Just change reverse the 0 and 1 in the following part of the script. -- Check if we just armed... if armed > 512 then isArmed = 1 elseif armed < 512 and isArmed == 1 then isArmed = 0 else isArmed = 0 end CHANGE the 1s to 0s as below ... -- Check if we just armed... if armed > 512 then isArmed = 0 elseif armed < 512 and isArmed == 0 then isArmed = 1 else isArmed = 1 end

It don’t need it while flying. But where I find it most useful is as soon as I plug in a battery. I can see at a glance if something is wrong before I get in the air. It’s mostly a trouble prevention tool for me.

Partially. The xm+ doesn’t support full telemetry so you won’t get RSSI or voltage from the drone. But it will let you have a better view of the voltage of your radio and know which mode you are in with a glance.
