I know this is a late comment, but this helps so much. I just got some shrimp and I brought him home and I didn’t know what to do besides clean them up. Thank you very much.

I made your recipe tonight with some nice black tiger shrimp and it was perfect!!! My husband is fussy about batters( doesn't like heavy or doughy) and this just PERFECT! Light, crispy and just the right amount of seasoning, rice vinegar is a very nice addition! My husband wants me to use this in our next pickerel fish fry!! :)...Have a Great Day!

OldManCooking Be forewarned: when it comes to eating shrimp, I lose my lady-like restraint, so make extra! Are these gulf shrimp or frozen? (could be both) Is this the season when they're being harvested?
@OldManCookin
@OldManCookin 9 лет назад
Luckily for us that are 300 miles from the Coast like Galveston... We get flash frozen Gulf shrimp... but they are expensive..... but good....Any good shrimp will work for this recipe just make sure you get all the tails off because you are gonna want to eat it all..

I did something wrong not sure what but the batter slipped off after they were cooked golden brown and the inside seemed raw. Maybe my oil was too hot idk or do I need to flour them before dipping in the batter?

I think that is a very important part.. you could try apple cider vinegar ...that might work... The Rice Vinegar is a sweet type vinegar I hope that helps ya...cause they are delicious... :)
